Help: Shift Lever stuck in Sportshift position

Help: Shift Lever stuck in Sportshift position
Hi:
My 2002 RSX Premium (auto transmission) lever is stuck in Sportshift mode. I cannot move it back to the "D" position and can't start the engine in the current position.
I know about the shift lock release but that is mainly for when the lever is stuck in Park.
Any suggestions???
