Unhappy Acura RSX 2005 model won't start :(

Hi,

I drive an Acura RSX 2005 base model (108,000 miles - approximately) and the tires needed changing so I took it to the mechanic a few days ago and also told them to check all other parts of the car because I had trouble starting the engine once or twice over the past month. They called me back and told me I needed a new battery, I said I would come back next week and have the battery replaced.
Yesterday morning when I tried to start my car it wouldn't work. I tried getting AAA to jump start it and that didn't work either. My lights and radio still come on and I had auto zone test out my battery and it said it had a 100% power so I have no idea what it could be. The mechanic did a report of all the tests they did on the car and it said that my starter was fine too. Any idea what this might be??? I'm trying to get my friend to fix it but he had trouble figuring out the problem too.

Any help appreciated

My 2005 had trouble starting and I was 1800 kms. from home. At the time I had about 240,000 kms on it. Eventually it did start. When I got home I took it to the garage and they told me it was the starter, it was replaced and now runs great. Right after they put it in it started up like a jet engine.

Likely either the battery or starter.

Just because the battery tested okay at Autozone, doesn't mean it is. Lots of members here on AZ have said they had batteries that tested okay but ultimately found it was the battery causing non-start issues.

You can try whacking the starter a couple of times next time it doesn't start, to see if that makes a difference. As justn asked - do you hear a click??

Had a battery that tested okay but wouldnt start. The battery had a short in it causing all sorts of electrical issues. Change the battery before the starter... will be cheaper.
