I'm new to this forum. I have an issue. My problem hasn't been solved for a few months now. My mechanic can't indentify this part and the dealership wants too much money just to tell what this part is. My mechanic hasn't even charged me for this dianostic and Acura wants to charge before they determine the problem.

I figure someone in here may know what this is. The schematic is not very helpful. This part is located near the Driverside rear tire near the fuel tank. Its definately part of the fuel system. I have done a smoke test. It showed this part is the problem.

 

It's hard to help without knowing the year and model of your RSX. Based on your description it appears to be part of the valve assembly for the fuel tank vent which only is shown for 2002-2004 RSX models. Go to an online OEM Acura parts site, enter your vehicle information, and then look for the fuel tank components. I think it is part of #22 on the graphic diagram.
