Honda just revealed the next gen Prelude in the Japan mobility show. While I remember the last Prelude, the biggest thing for me is that it signals a return of a coupe platform, so hopefullt the next (6th) gen Integra can get a 2 door.

I've had at least 4 preludes. 4G rhd, 5G SIR rhd, 5g sh usdm and 5G base usdm. The one that remains is a pearl white 2000 base that I purchased from the original owner around 6 years ago. It's a bit beat up now from age, but will be getting some attention soon as I have started a v6 j35 6spd conversion. Motor and trans are installed, just trying to finish up another project first.
As far as non 4 / 5 door integras, being that the underlying chassis is essentially a civic, and the fact that Honda discontinued coupe civics it is doubtful that there will be a coupe or 3D hatch integra. At least not a fully gas one. Hybrid / EV 🙅♂️ no thank you.
I'm not sure where Roadandtrack got this info, but they are now saying that the Prelude will be a 2-door variant based on the Civic platform. And only in Europe for now (where there are no Acuras).
Acura trademarked the RSX in Japan all of a sudden a couple days ago. This is making many believe the Prelude will come as an RSX instead of an Integra to North America.
Exciting news. I don't know which Acura I'd get rid of, so this just might convince to be a 4 Acura home. I'm definitely buying it once my CPO warranty on the MDX runs out, just don't know if I'll have the self control to wait.
My guess is that Acura is awaiting the election, to learn if CAFE is going to be rolled back or not, before announcing its powertrain. The Marysville plant's new flex-line is probably its new home, and they'll be able to build Hybrid vs ICE vs BEV variants all on the same line.
You guys can dream on all you like. But, over the years I've realized factory cars will never have everything I want. Hence the reason I built a J35 6spd flex fuel prelude. Best of all no car payment, cheap ins and registration.
