CEL and Limp Mode

CEL and Limp Mode
Hi Guys,
New to the forum, hoping you can help.
I have a stock 03 RSX AT with 106k on the clock, I purchased it 2 weeks ago in Mass.
Everything has been great, but today after going in the store for 5 minutes the CEL was on when I got going again. I also noticed the car in limp mode (not revving over 4k). I read up and discovered it could be the oil level - I checked it and it looked like it needed some, put some in, no different. I then parked for an hour and went back to it, the CEL was still on but the car is no longer in limp mode.
I plan on heading to Autozone in the morning to get the code.
My questions:
1. Any reason the CEL would stay on after the oil level is good?
2. Why would the car come out of limp mode but the CEL remains?
I have the mandatory 30 day per MA state law, will this cover things like o2 sensors should that be the issue?
I also have the diamond trade warranty for 6 months, I will be checking to see what that covers.
Any help/advice you can give would be great - I already checked the gas cap, no different.
Matt

A lot of RSX's with aftermarket parts will get a CEL code.
Do you have an aftermarket header? Check under the car and see if you still have a Catalytic Converter, if you don't then a CEL is very normal and will come on every few weeks and then dissapear for a while. But it never puts my car in limp mode.
A 02 censor would never put your car in limp mode either.
