This car is so bad that I will never buy Acura again

Every time I drive my Integra, I can’t wait to get out of it. This is the most pathetic excuse for a new car from a premium brand that I have ever experienced. Literally every panel, every stitch of this car rattles and creaks. I have trim on the driver side lower dash that will never clip in, squeaks from the HUD/gage cluster, the seat belt holders, the passenger side dash, the A pillars, and even the seats. Not to mention the road noise is so awful that I don’t think it has any insulation at all.

I was excited for the 2024 TLX as an upgrade but after seeing how poorly the Integra is built, I will never buy Honda/Acura again.

It's interesting that a few have had this experience with the Integra. Ours was delivered in November '22, and we couldn't be happier with it. I'm pretty particular when it comes to fit/finish and rattle issues, and this might be the best-finished new car I've owned. Everything works as designed, the paint (Performance Red Pearl) is nearly flawless and really pops in the bright sun, and panel fits are near perfect with no squeaks, rattles or buzzes in the interior. I don't think I've ever bought a new car that didn't need to go back for some interior rattle or squeak in the first year of ownership, but our Integra has accomplished that.

In contrast, the rental 7-series BMW sedan that we had on our summer vacation was an absolute rattle box. Many of the interior controls didn't work (or worked on their own). So much for "luxury" quality.

My MDX had lots of rattles and the dealer swapped out trim under warranty until each rattle stopped.

Their approach was to compare vs the same model from their loaner fleet or another model in for service that day, and consider it a warranty defect if the other model made no sound.

And herein lies the issue with Acura's quality unfortunately. You don't expect 100% of the cars to be perfect but it has felt like it's about a 50/50 mix and a crapshoot for years now. I really wish they would tighten this up (pun intended).

My experience is not statistically significant. Our Integra, which is superb, and my '10 TL, which had two minor rattles fixed within the first several months but has otherwise been rock solid.

Some of the quietest cars I've had recently as rentals have been GM products (e.g., Malibu and CTS). They had other deficits but the interiors seemed well put together.

My experience with renting Euro luxury models (Audi A3/A4 and BMW 3 and 7 series) has been less than great in the quality/fit/finish departments.

Anyone else find it odd that for such a hot car, there is so little action in the Integra threads in AZ? Is all the Integra love monopolized by other Acura forums?

I agree. I've seen AZ quieter on models where there are active model-specific competing forums. Integra is definitely one of them.

I don't own an Integra so don't bother registering on them, but will post here with my occasional loaner experience.

My experience with Acura is that initial build has materially gone down over the past 20 years. Even my dealer service dept says my RSX is far more solidly built than any newer models.

However Acura does stand by their warranty, every little complaint I had was warranty repaired, I keep a running list and let the dealer clean them up on each oil change. Don't think I would ever get a current Acura without the super-long Acuracare warranty.

Here's my working theory for why the Integra threads lack "action":

1) Integra model forum link is buried so far down it's the last Acura model on the main page
2) RSX and Integra threads are integrated.
3) Integra, ZDX, and the defunct ILX are the only forums to not get a "generational tag".

Back in October of 22, I bought a base Integra and I didn't have no rattle issues or anything mention by the original post, but can understand the frustration that it can cause. What I did notice for example, was that the body panels, like the front side fenders were never 100% aligned with the lower part of the hood or the bumper, hopefully I explained that correctly. I took it back because it bothered me, was not trying to be picky but was told at the dealership that this is normal. In November of 23, I traded in my base for an A-Spec at a different Acura dealership and interesting enough, there is no space or small gaps, it aligned perfectly.

Integra buyers skew younger, and younger people use IG, reddit, hell even FB groups much more than forums. It’s the same in most other types of forums: sports, hobbies, etc. The online forum is a dying medium.

I was super disappointed with the Integra as well. As expensive as it was it didn't feel premium. It had the look but not the build quality to back it up. So many issues along with the sticky steering which was the worst one of all. No car is 100% perfect but I'm much happier with my TLX.

My wife has a 23 TLX A-Spec and while I personally don’t have any issues with my Integra as mentioned, I agree the TLX seems to be a better quality built car. It feels more premium. Granted it’s a more expensive car but that doesn’t justify or should be the reason but it probably is. Hopefully with time, any issues with the Integra will be fixed.

Integra is a Civic-rebadge. Were you expecting miracles?

^^ This. Even true among older crowds these days. I run a fishing specific forum and have10x less activity than 10 years ago. Social media platforms and Reddit have won out.

I am also confused by the order of the model forums, the top 4 forums should be the 4 current generation Acuras.

Exactly! Not sure why those running this place cannot see that when it's so obvious?!?

People complained about the reordering (and flatenning out of all the models and generations) and were met with crickets, probably because the mod who did it got his feelings hurt.
