Air conditioning problems

I have a 2002 Acura RSX. My wife is driving it today and called to tell me that all of a sudden the air conditioner stopped blowing cold air, was only blowing hot air, and the fan was running at it's top speed and couldn't be turned off. I have done some research and searched this site and it appears that this problem can be caused by a blown blower motor resistor block. When I get home, I want to try to order one so that we can get the air conditioning running again for our trip.

I have two questions: (1) does this seem like a blower motor resistor block problem to everyone else and (2) are blower motor resistor blocks universal between various Acura model or does the RSX have a different one than other models. The reason I ask this is that one of the threads here included a link to purchase a new one for a 2004 CL but I didn't know if it would work for my purposes. If it won't work, does anyone have any recommendations on where I should buy this part from and is "blower motor resistor block" the actual part name?

Thanks.

They are very similar between models. Although an 04 CL does not exsist, in the US anyway. Yea resitor block or resistor/transistor and the folks should understand what you are talking about. Maybe you have figured it out by now though. Good luck!
