2005 RSX automatic with 103,000 miles

Three minutes after starting my car, she slips into neutral. Then I'll park and turn the car off for a few minutes. When I restart, the same thing happens and it only runs for another three minutes then slips back into neutral again. Is it a clogged filter in the sealed transmission accumulating particles/debris that drop down after I turn off the car and clog the filter again after driving another three minutes ? Is there a possible easy fix to try? Help!!! Thanks.

What does the tranny fluid look like? Have you checked it?

Better yet are you seeing your error codes?

Welcome to the forums.

I deleted the new thread you posted, probably because you hadn't gotten a reply to this thread.

Please be patient, especially on the weekend when things are slower. I'm sure someone will come around soon and try to help you out.

There were no error codes. The tranny fluid looked a bit dark with sediments and metallic filings.

That's never good, I would flush all that out when as soon as possible.

I wouldn't flush, just drain and fill. If you have filings/shavings, chances are you're heading toward a rebuild

Ouch, I'm guessing an automatic you are speaking about.. How do you know it slips into N. Based upon dash or the shifter moves.. or does your car start rolling.. etc. If you are finding any debris or metal particles is a bad sign.. sounds one of the gears might have been damaged and thats the pieces showing. If its one of the later gears you won't notice until trying to shift at those higher speeds.. but a rebuild might be coming. After your drain pay attention to that fluid to see whats coming out.
