Winter wheel/tire fitment
Just bought winter wheels/tires off of craigstlist for the wonderful metro Detroit snow. They are 18x8 +50 with 245/45/r18 Blizzaks. They seemed pretty big when I threw them up against the side of the car to judge, so before I take them to a shop to throw them on, do you guys think they'll fit? Car is bone stock. Thanks!

Tires in the 245/45 R18 size are roughly an inch wider and an over an inch and a half greater in diameter; if they fit it'll be snug and may cause a fair amount of rubbing when the steering wheel is turned to (or near) lock. Taking the wheel offset into the mix just increases the likelihood of rubbing as 38mm to 40mm is typical for your car with 45mm being the max I see.
Even if you do manage to get your new set to fit, your speedometer and odometer will be rather off; both will register on the low side in that your speed and distance with both be greater than indicated.

having more tire and less rim is the better way to go in winter. Snow/ice doesn't build up as bad throwing off the balance + easier on the suspension on those dam potholes the crappy city doesn't fix!!! :/
