Hey folks just got a new to me 2013 ilx premium 2.4 with the manual Trans. Took for 30 min test drive and didn't detect any of these noises during my tests. Looking for advice on how to proceed, ie turn music up, fix or flip.
1) fiest start up at home car made a fairly loud grinding noise which sounded like coming from passenger side. Shut car off and inspected but seen nothing out of place. Have noticed small occasional grinding on start ups still. Dr Google says it could be vtc actuator...
2) grinding in reverse, I realize it's supposed to sound like an rc car in reverse but I also noted another grinding noise backing out my 90 ft driveway. I will try to 13 ilx 2.4 6mt
include video for review
3) I happen to slip the clutch a couple times in traffic and the clutch made an awkward squeeling noise. Only happend twice in 4 days so far but def something I noted. I suspect release bearing.
Car was purchased used from a Honda dealer a couple hrs away. salesman said via email no maintenance is required on the car. I paid 10k plus tax cad. It only has 141 kms on the dash. Other than a few paint Knicks all I could see it needed was front pads. Not bad for an 11 year old car.

what do u guys think?
I wouldn't worry too much about the clutch grinding noise in the 1st gear, i've got exactly the same acura ilx 2.4 liter manual dynamic 2013, bought it used in 2017 and now it has 175,000 kms. I got used to the clutch grinding noise when starting in the 1st gear, it never got worse and it only happens once in a blue moon. it's not worth repairing the clutch unless it gets very noisy or happens frequently. otherwise, an excellent car, no major repairs just oil changes and brakes. I love driving it, the engine when accelerating makes the best sound imaginable. imho, it was a good buy. as far as other noises are concerned i cannot comment as my car makes none.
Think my start up noise is a heat shield so I'm not to concerned about that at the moment but I am still investigating the ticking while reversing. I test drove a 2014 civic si with 100k more on the clock and the civic made no ticking noises at all while reversing just the normal reverse whine. I took videos of both so you can hear what mine sounds like. If anyone has had a similar noise in reverse please let me know!

Hi,
My story exactly, 2013 I'll silver 2.4 liter K24Z7 engine manual, grinding noise in 1st gear when starting up driving, stays always the same and never deteriorated in the last 7 years since I've had it, a very dependable car, great engine and the sound at 4500 rpm when i-vtec kicks in is devine, lol. So I wouldn't worry about that grinding sound in the 1st gear. But I cannot comment on other sounds because there are none with my car.
