Navigation on 1 of the two screens A spec HOW?
Navigation on 1 of the two screens A spec HOW?
Just to be clear, there is absolutely no way for screen navigation on the A Spec (non tech package)? I have a 2016 ILX A spec with two screens and neither show anything other than what I am listening to on the radio or blue tooth.
I bought a HDMI to iphone and nothing happens
I cannot find the Acura-link navigation app, I only have the acrua link app, which only shows car info and there seems to be no navi app anymore. Is that discontinued?
What exactly do I need to do in order to get my maps to appear on the screen? Or is there NO option to do this?
Why would I want to look down at my phone while driving with a screen at eye level?
Does anyone have the A spec premium and CAN use the screen for navigation? If so what exactly are you doing? There are no updates to these systems to make so we CAN use the screen for what its there for? So frustrating.

The 2016 ILX sales brochure lists "Acura Link Navigation connectivity app" but only for a Premium package, not the base model. Check your Owner's Manual and/or Window Sticker (if you have it) to see what package, other than A-Spec, that you've got. My guess is that if you've only got the A-Spec package, then you might be SOL. In the early days of the A-packages they were mostly APPEARANCE add on's. Good luck.
See if this helps you...
Go to this web page:
auto-brochures.com/acura/html
Page 24 of the 2016 ILX model lists all of the US packages. If you DO have a Factory Premium version, then your car should have the app that you're looking for BUT, BUT, BUT ......
A year ago or so many (most companies, Autos, Phone, etc) started to lay down the older communication systems that used 3G (or older) technology. 3G is now pretty much obsolete and the phone companies were spending their money to roll out 5G. Check with Acura, but it may be possible that the 2016 Acura link system used 3G technology. I do seem to recall that some of the model years in the mid-teens were impacted. If so, then there is no way the app will work today. Search this website and other Honda/Acura rooms for "3G issues" and you should be able to find several threads. Hope I'm wrong, but it's a start.

Thanks, I see that the A spec has no option. So that means I have two screen for pretty much nothing and an HDMI port,,,,,just for looks? In this day of technology, there is no way to HDMI my phone screen to one of the screens? What is the point of two screens? It is really just "appearance"?
Thanks for the responses.

I'm guessing that you did not buy your car new. At the time your car was designed and built your desired option (use of screen for Navigation) was possible and DID work. It used the 3G wireless technology that was the most common system for all of the wireless telecoms (AT&T, Verizon, etc). When these companies started the costly rollout of 5G technology they made the decision to retire the growingly obsolete 3G technology. Most of them set their "sunset date" for last summer. at which point the hardware was retired (no more 3G signal).
Had you started your activity, say late 2021/early 2022 (before the sunset dates), your car system would have worked the way you wanted... until the signal was turned off. Now, however, the signal that your system needs is no longer available. There are threads where smart folks have swapped out their head units to later versions, but you would need to find/buy/install in order to get the functionality that you're wanting. It can be done, but it will take work and money.
