Finally changed my 51r battery out

I finally got around to changing my 51r battery out for a 24f. I noticed one thing is that my gas pedal is much smoother operating. By that I mean before i would get these dead spots when pushing down on the pedal.. I would actually have to let up on the pedal and push down again... Seems to start better also, but the real test will come this winter. My dealer installed remote would never work when it was 10 degrees or below outside. I hope that changes for me in Connecticut here this winter. I only drive 5000 miles a year.. so I hope it gets charged up enough on 20-25 trips to the store and back.. so 40-50 minute drives on the shorter runs.. otherwise maybe was a waste of money. I drive a 2013 TSX sport wagon with Tech package.

Many people think i was foolish to do this since the engine only draws so much current to start .. but my factory battery was just 400 CCA where as this one is 775.. Having a deeper well to draw power from should help

Maybe if some people who have done this can chime in and let me know how it's been going for you with the upgrade. I would like to hear of your experance

the third gen TL (2004-2008) was plagued with surging issues....
some say upgrading to a sears die hard platinum fixed these issues much like you've noticed with your larger battery.

The topic has been discussed in length. I am using an Optima Redtop group 35 and it fits perfectly in place of the stock 51r.

Larger battery

So a Group 35 or 24f battery will fit in place of the 51r OEM battery? Do I have to make ANY changes? Larger battery box, change cables, etc?

I put the 24f in .. I did buy the Honda V6 box and the rods to tie it down. Also bought the Honda V6 top brace but that didn't fit. The holes were way off centered .. So I went to auto zone and bought a clamp and got that to work. Had to shave off the tops of the tie downs. I could post a picture of it?

It may matter that a TSX is based off Accord and ILX based off Civic for space/batt location.
