Am I being rippied off my a mechanic?
I started my 2016 ILX last Friday and when pressing the gas nothing would happen not even a real rev. I took it to Firestone which was right there and they charged me 210 for battery and 110 for a "diagnostic" which they say I need a fuel pump and fuel rail. And that the total is 1900$ ( believe including battery/diagostic). I have not told them to get parts just yet and want to bring the breakdown to another mechanic to see what they think, but again, if I cannot drive it, towing might be pricey.
is it normal to need both, or for both to go bad at once? I feel like I probably only need one of the two, but they are "recommending" things. I have no idea about this stuff and feel like I am getting robbed. Is there no way to just "fix" what is existing, without needing a brand new fuel pump and fuel rail at 58k miles
I change the oil at ever 3-4k miles, use premium gas and get serviced.
In the last few months I have had my tires rotated, oil change, alignment. Then my calipers locked up so I got all new brakes, rotors and back calipers. Then a week later this happens. I feel like I ONLY have issues right after I take it in for maintenance.
What should I ask, should I take it somewhere for a second opinion?

The forum where you originally posted, the AcuraZine User Help, Support & Suggestions Area , is meant for problems, comments, and suggestions for the website itself, so I moved your thread to the car specific forum applicable to your vehicle.
This was explained in the sticky thread at the top of that forum, or click here if you can't find it, which will explain why you shouldn't have posted your thread there.

So I just got back from the shop - firestone says it is required that all three parts be replaced to fix the issue
Fuel Pump
Fuel Rail
Some Engine Sensor
This does not sound right to me whatsoever but I am gambling if I tow it somewhere and get charged the same or more + the tow.
He said the you cannot just change one, because they rely on each other or some SH$T. I do not believe this at all. Called another mechaninc I see and he says they never have to change fuel rails unless they are damaged.

Where are you located? I would do some quick research to find a reputable independent shop near you, call them on the phone, and ask them the total cost to replace the pump. I seriously doubt you need a new fuel rail. There is a chance you don't need a pump either, if it only has 58k miles on it, but at least you will know the cost before having it towed. I will say that the car starting and then not being able to rev at all sounds like a potentially bad pump.
Firestones are typically horrible for anything other than slapping on tires, so try to find good local independent and stick with it.

He said they used OEM parts I dropped if off Friday and they "said" they took apart and found no leaks - but STILL reeks of gas and cranks for about 4 seconds before starting after sitting all night. I am so irritated. They told me if it continues to take it elsewhere, but I just paid them 2k - they changed my battery, fuel pump and sensor and now it smells of gas, AND cranks for 4 seconds before starting. Sounds like THEY screwed up. Just wait til I catch fire lol then I will own firestone.
Sorry, I just saw this and will try that. It still does the same exact thing. When it sits, and I start it it sounds like a car struggling to start, then starts. I will try your suggestion but I really shouldn't have to do this since I just paid over 2k for a pump/censor/battery. They told me to take it to the dealer if it continues - after I just paid that much money they want me to go elswhere to pay more. I wish there was something I could do - I feel like I am being taken or already have been.
If you shut the car off and immediately restart it, does it fire right up? You need to call Firestone and get the exact brand and part numbers they used.
I hope you end up getting this worked out, but it's probably going to be an expensive lesson to avoid Firestone (Meineke, Midas, etc) when it comes to car repairs. You'll quickly get into a "throwing good money after bad" situation.
