Paperboy42190's Progress Thread

I guess it's time for me to start a progress thread on my recently purchased 2016 ILX. I got the Tech plus with Aspec, in white. Really happy with the car so far and the DCT is very fun when driving. I used to have a 2007 TL Type-S, and decided to take a couple pics of both cars before I sold the TL.

First mod, Blackvue DR500gw-HD. I had this camera on my TL too and loved it so I'm putting the same one on the ilx. Hardwired into the overhead console for a clean OEM-like install. It's actually completely hidden when viewed from the driver's seat due to the rearview mirror

Maybe one of these weekends. It's very easy though, I routed the wire through the same opening for the rearview mirror(just pop off the cover to route the wire in). Then I routed the wire up into the overhead console and found the homelink positive wire with a multimeter. Then solder, shrink tube, and zip tie the wires cleanly and reinstall overhead console.

Yeah. It is a great car but I just wanted something newer and more tech. I actually sold it to a friend so I do still see it once in awhile.

^^ That is a great photo! Love your ILX....I have a bias toward white cars too but that has nothing to do with it

How's the 20%? Any second thoughts about going darker?

Very satisfied so far. It actually seems darker than the 17% cheap suntek tint that I had on my TL. No desire to go darker as tint already looks darker on a white car.

Also, I just ordered the front and rear aspec lip kits yesterday. Couldn't help it after seeing some more pics. Will definitely post some pics when they arrive.

Has anyone ever considered putting the tlx shift knob on an ilx? It looks like it'll fit with no problems. It's got the same overall design except with a silver accent on the front

Those puddle lights are official. You should try to post up another picture when it gets darker . Where'd you get the lights from?

Your ILX is coming along!! I can't wait to start my own progress thread.

I believe acuralink is a tech package only option, its pretty cool how I can unlock/lock the car remotely with this app.

I got the puddle lights from oznium, using their LED bolt for a flush mount. Honestly it's pretty hard taking pictures of lights with a phone camera, but one of these days I'll be able to get a proper photoshoot in.

I am using the morimoto XB fog lights. Direct plug and play and looks great! Very happy with them.

As as for the lip kit, yes they come in all OEM colors

Are you going to spam this question in every thread? Give it a break. No you don't have to but it makes it worlds easier.

Just take your ILX to a shop and have them do it.

well, the factory templates for cutting are placed on the inside edge of the bumper..... So unless you want to drill holes from the outside and risk hitting a wrong spot and making extra holes in your bumper, then taking it off is the best way
