Can someone clarify if these information is accurate for the 2014 ILX?

With HID 2015 - 2013 D2S 9005/HB3 H11

Why did they have an option for halogen bulbs? Please confirm if all ILX are HID. And if the bulb size is D2S.

All low beams on the 13-15's are D2S's


High beams are 9005 aka HB3

I forget which is which, but one of those numbers is a US specific bulb size, the other is the international standard. (HB3 vs 9005)




The H11's are fog lights.

 

If I remember correctly, the base model of the ilx were Halogen bulbs instead of D2S. There was a recall for the ILX before due to the halogen housings overheating and melting.

 

ohh ouch, the 2013 base ILX must have been pretty... basic.

 

-2015 base = halogen
-2015 premium and tech = hid

Recall was hybrid base only i believe. Could be wrong.

 

Side conversation, but does anyone know of an aftermarket manufacturer that makes HID lights (like 2016 model) for a base 2014 ilx. Been looking around and having trouble finding any head light kits.

The 9005 is U.S. Standard.

 

You're looking to put an HID kit on a car that has halogen reflectors. Not recommended but www.theretrofitsource.com has the best quality products. Acurazine coupon code too.
