Air intake

So by getting an intake and adding it to your Acura what actually does it effect overtime? I heard once you do a mod to your car it will have an effect to other parts and that’s when it starts breaking down.

I modified my intake (AEM) and my oil analysis came back so dirty I went back to stock, yes, it went back down. I want longevity over power on this one.

If you maintain regular maintenance on your car and good quality oil, an intake will not kill your car. I've had an intake on all my cars. Trucks sedans and sport cars. Never had any issues. few of these cars are at 200k.

If your this cautious of an air filter causing your vehicle to break down, perhaps modifying your vehicle isn't a good idea for you.

If aftermarket products from reputable brands caused such widespread failure, surely there would be firealarms going off all over the internet and social media. Real talk, just maintain your vehicle as you would anything else, take the extra time to look and clean your AEM airfliter maybe ever 2nd oil change or so (since it is exposed, it will get dirty faster, but they are easy to clean)
