2016 Center Console armrest USB addition for rear seats

Hello

having 2 teenage kids that are constantly on their phones, i was looking to add a USB connector at the rear of the center console armrest , see attached diagram with arrow and switch i want to add, the question is before i take anything apart, has anyone taken apart the armrest and know how much space there is actually behind the panel i want to add the switch to?

i will be doing this project this weekend and will find out for myself, but just wanted to know what i am up against beforehand

thanks in advan
ce!

Steve

Well wrapped up the project this weekend, one glitch which i will get into later.....panel came off pretty easy....used a flat head screwdriver to pop off the panel...unfortunately things in the way at the upper end had to place switch down low, still looks good, i tapped into the sunroof fuse with a fuse tap, and installed it correctly but the usb stays hot even after i turn the car off...will investigate more and try out other non essential fuses when i have more time or just place a on/off switch somewhere in between the fuse and the usb

it was surprisingly simple to complete..just need to figure out how to turn if off with the ignition to prevent battery drain...although the buttons led light should not be a huge draw...but when i go on vacation for 10 days this maybe a problem..keep you posted
