Hi everyone. Just got my 2020 Acura ILX A spec last week! Just got a radar detector and realized where the power is located (center console)
Now i have a long wire in the way of everything. I tried searching the forums here for Radar detector tips or instructions on how to setup a different way possbly? If anyone can help at all or link to another thread it is much appreciated !!

 

IMO best place to mount is next to the rear view mirror. Tuck the wire in the headliner and down the a-pillar, down and under the dash making your way across to the center console and back to the armrest.

 

If I had the need for one, I'd hardwire it into the map light.

If the 2020 ILX has exposed power plug on the back of the mirror, you can use something like this: https://blendmount.com/categories/mi...tx-series.html

I use the mirror tap product to power my Blackvue dashcam.

 

I highly recommend just using add a fuse. Getting the device on its own line is far electronically sound against compromising the overhead wiring. The fuse box has pleanty of space and at lease (2) empty switched lines to utilize. Just run the wiring up the A-Pillar on your left and along the headliner. No effort and makes things easy to troubleshoot.
