Window tint
Window tint
Hey guys just picked up my 2016 CBP ILX premium. First thing I want to do is tint the windows. What kind of tint do you guys have on yours. Is there anythimg better than llumar? I'm planning on maybe going 10% all around.
That's a great brand. Just use a great brand with a good warranty from a reputable shop. And if possible use something that is less likely to interfere with electronics. I used 3M, I just used that because supposedly they have a guaantee that is transferable from shop to shop, as long as they're certified 3M installer... Hoping to never have to use my warranty card.
suntek carbon technology tint with 18% front and 5% rear lifetime warranty cracks bubbles you name it. paid $250
Great price man, sounds like a great warranty as well. I will also add in that certain brands also block a lot of heat. So that may or may not matter for you. I paid extra for that, but my car was killing me with this hot ass California sun. I even got the front windshield tinted in clear, you can tell its a tiny bit darker. Every bit helped, my car was a god damn OVEN.
I'm not sure where you're located or what the tint laws are there, but 10% is really dark (I think 5% is considered "limo") so you might get harassed by law enforcement if you go ahead with that. I had my ILX done 2.5 years ago by a local place that uses 3M. I went 20% all the way around and I love it. Tint is a necessity here in Arizona. I've been pulled over twice for it.
Hope that helps.
Hope that helps.

^20% tint. I thought that was pretty dark but I liked it.
I've been pulled over a few times now for tint. I had it taken off and reapplied. Got pulled over again so now the front tint is off for good.
Doesn't look too bad with the no front tint and 20% rears.

My old car had 5% back windows, lightly tinted on the fronts. Coupe civic, drove with windows down regularly. Cops never pulled over me over for it, or mentioned the tint.
5% Tint so you can't see up in my window
don't act like you don't know the name
If you were thinking 25% (ish) then 5% would be a big jump in terms of visibility. But 10% is already pretty dark so 5% won't make a huge difference. 10% is fine too, I just like to quote Mike Jones when I can
