For the first time that I can remember, Acura is including an option for a 2nd tier lease special with a slightly higher rate. This is for younger buyers with (possibly) lower credit scores. Previously, it was 'top tier' credit scores or you're using the regular rates. I haven't looked into your question specifically, but this might be the answer.

@colin, I think that might be it, but look at the email I got from a dealer today (below). They're quoting me an absurdly high rate!

George,

Your Out The Door monthly payment for the Manual ILX is: $391.89 per month for 39 months.

Let me know when a good day and time would be for you to come in.

Thank you,

Cailin Williams

Is it possible in your original posting that that difference is the amount of miles allowed per year.

This quote says out the door so wouldn't that include your taxes etc? Mind you unless your taxes are worse than our 12 percent it shouldn't be that high a payment considering the ones in your first post even though they don't include taxes.

I would ask if you are referring to 'rate' or 'payment'. Obviously the rate affects payment but so does the amount down, mileage allowed (this influences residual), and term. Dealers are not allowed to 'mark up' the rate on the special lease programs. If you know for certain that you're getting a high money factor, you need to check your credit score.

The reason this quote is so high is because this dealer won't honor the lease special. They say that it only applies to the auto transmission despite the fact that the msrp between the two is the same. When I asked what the residual was, she told me they were the same at 18 thousand something...which didn't make sense to me. This payment assumes preffered tier credit and 10k a year and zero down...ct taxes are 6.25% with dmv fees at 111 dollars...this quote sucks

I can confirm that all premium package ILX models carry the same residual value. What is less clear is whether Acura is providing the same lease rate for the manual transmission model. it appears that several models have been excluded from the lease special, including both base hybrid and base 2.0.

I found a dealer that's willing to give me the lease special on a manual. Got quoted $330 with $504 down to cover dealer fees and plate transfer. First month paid by them, 39 months, 10k per year....I think I might bite on this one.
