Viper alarm
Viper alarm
So soon ill be moving to a new apt complex but there is no gate. I can see my car from my soon to be apt but im still not satisfied. I have been looking at the "Viper Color OLED 2-Way Security + Remote Start System" does anyone have any experience with this alam system? Would my remote beep if alarm goes off? I appreciate your help and input in advance.
i see you posted this question a while ago, so maybe you have already answered thus question..... but i will answer it anyway for you.
i am an installer at Best Buy. i have installed these systems before, but have not done any alarm installs specifically on ILX quite yet, but i have done a handful of TLs and other acura alarm and remote start installs before. the alarm you are talking about is a 2-way system, so if the alarm goes off, your new remote with the screen would tell you when the alarm goes off. it beeps and vibrates.
The different immobilizer bypass modules that can be used for remote start installs these days, some of them let you arm/disarm the aftermarket alarm with your OEM remote, and some even let you remote start the vehicle from the OEM remote by tapping the lock button 3 times in a row. i believe this feature has been disabled or bypassed for a lot of the new Acura vehicles because the OEM keyless entry system is disabled when the car is running, so after the car is running, using your oem or aftermarket alarm remote to unlock the car would not work.
i hope this helps
