Probably not, my aspecs had plenty of room too.
Although I did end up swapping out all my studs to slightly longer ones anyway to be able to run 10MM and below version 1 spacers.

In the future I will definitely be picking up some extended studs. Probably once I actually own it. I'm currently leasing so I dont want to press new studs while its not mine.

I don't blame you one bit...
I opted for ones that were long enough for 10MM, but short enough to still fit under the oem studs/no spacers.
I'm not sure if the ILX is similar, but I was able to do fronts/rears without a press.

And rockstar I just surfed through your picture thread. Great progress. Looks like you really got a perfected look going on.

Some advan center caps and new exhaust would really take her over the top cosmetically.
At that point Id probably strictly work on performance. Can't wait until my cars at the point where I cant think of more to do cosmetically.

Plugged in my white led reverse lights and led license plate lights.
Got my yellow fogs in but have not plugged those in yet.

Just got the confirmation of my intake being shipped.

wich intake did you end up going with?

Cant wait for pics of your lights I am wanting to upgrade my License plate, DRL, Dome light and Rev lights.

Since you got yellow fogs are you going to leave the laminex on too or remove it?

Leaving it on. Without the laminx it would look clear during the day. Laminx makes it yellow during the day and the bulbs will keep it yellow when light is shinning through at night.
I definitely suggest the white led license plate replacement. I didnt really care to until I found LEDs all 4 LEDs for a buck before shipping. Put one of them in and I was blown away at how orange the stock bulbs were. Nasty.

Pics of the intake when I get home.

LED reverse lights and the license plate lights really do make a difference and make the car look so much nicer at night. They are fairly easy installs too.

Takeda Retain CAI

I've always been a huge fan of OEM intakes. I dont care what others say; Acura tests the air flow of their intakes far more extensively than AEM, Injen, etc etc. While those are great intakes, it would cost them more to try and utilize stock parts instead of just throwing some universal tubing into the engine bay.

Top half is replaced with a larger housing with an oversized cone intake with reverse cone inside to replace the stock flat drop in fitler. Bottom half of the oem housing is used as well as the oem air resonator to pull cold air.
Also has a cut out vent in the rear of the airbox to promote air flow from the front to the rear instead of from the engine to the intake. This acts like a damn trumpet and makes the intakes growl so damn loud. Loudest intake Ive installed to date. Awesome.

Cool! Everything lined up perfectly? I have been eyeing it for the 2.4 too but still leaning towards K&N

Im not sure if takeda makes a retain intake that uses the 2.4 airbox. K&n would be great to have. I just didnt see the need to pay for it

Nevermind NeverOnline I'm wrong; they have both designs by takeda. I'd definitely go for this one..

What I saw was this for the civic si by Takeda.. which is your basic SRI

I love this intake. It's loud as hell and makes the engine sound gnarly. Ive only seen intakes sound like that when the motor really has power to suck. That not being the case, this intake is legit. haha I need an exhaust now.

And my light show how it sits now.

New bright yellow fogs show gold as fuck through the gold film.
New reverse lights crazy bright and some cheap license plate lights that aren't too obnoxious.
And lastly some new DRLs that are gorgeous and white.

Sway bar coming next pay check.

I lied and bought some performance bling before the sway bar. Should be here at the end of the week and you all can see what it is then. Think bracing.

Yeah, been waiting 3 months for my advan caps to show! Friggin first experience ordering from Japan directly.
And I have some new tips that'll compliment the rear better on the way too!
Thanks for taking a look too!

I thoroughly enjoy your thread too!

Just got my custom white Megan Racing rear tie bar.

A rear tie bar is used to stiffen up the rear of the chassis. When the car takes sharp turns the suspension and components inbetween flex. A rear tie bar literally ties together the firmer parts of the chassis ie. where a lower control arm, or strut tower connects to support the weaker portion of the frame.
This is a rear lower tie arm. There is a rear upper, and front upper and lower. A front strut bar wont fit with our windshield cowl thing. Same for a rear upper.

Before asked, there isn't any different in handling because stiffening the chassis doesnt do much whent he body has so much roll. A beefier rear sway-bar and good quality tires would make this mod much more beneficial. For now it's more about bling. haha
Sway bar to come then some quality tires with new tires come Jan-Feb and this mod will start to shine. Probably source some new LCAs too just to add to the bling.

I guess in a way it's not totally true or you wouldn't have a thread. Ego is a helluva thing

Either way, I dig the looks of the frame brace...look forward to your opinion on it once you add the supporting mods.

I have no issues sharing info after something is complete. I have informed many people how to retrofit the same lip I did.

The quote refers to telling people your ideas before they hit fruition and someone with money whom would have never thought of it pays some shop to do it first then not only takes credit but more often then not argue that they did it first.

Hey Jon...did you notice any increased performance since installing the Takeda Cai? How about gas mileage, any change?

I'll take the performance question: No he could not tell there was any gain other than increased volume lol

I think potentially mpg could improve but the audible increase kills that too. Because we like hearing it so we tend to be a little more heavy footed to hear exhausts and intakes so we ( and yes by we I mean me lol don't get to reap the rewards of efficiency

Sorry bored so I wanted to respond

You pretty much nailed it.

Intake performance wise I can't tell. I'd argue I dont believe anyone does. You can't feel a 5hp difference and thats THE MOST IF ANY that any intake will gain.
MPG, Ive noticed a drop but I assume it is due to my recent heavy foot. haha

Thanks guys...I'm leaning toward a cheap engine mod like an intake especially if I could install it myself.

Do it. A simple sri would be easiest. Like from DC Sports K&N or the takeda one I picked up. A CAI would be great as well but a tad harder for someone without the experience.
