Unsolved rattling problem

After 3 times at service, it was finally determined that the horrible rattling noise coming from under the hood is due to the mounting of the engine block. It is a problem that they cannot immediately solve without corporate getting involved.

They have now submitted a claim on my behalf and apparently one of two things will happen......either there will be a general recall and they will send the supplies and instructions to the dealer OR they will send a technician along with the parts to the dealer on a specific day/time.

I was told that it can take up to 2 months for a response. I will give it that long and then I am probably off to a consumer advocate group!! It has now been 4 weeks with no response.

That's odd, I haven't heard of that? Have you checked the motor mounts?

Ken, please keep us updated. I've been experiencing the same, since day one.

You're in Hoboken? Lets meet up sometime.

Thanks for the response. Have you brought this to the dealer and if so, what was their answer?

I gave up on Acura, after tremendous amount of frustration and time spent going back and forth to dealers. They have not fixed anything regarding the front passenger side rattling & rear thumping noise I've been experiencing since day one.

I'm guessing you live in Hoboken. Have you made any progress with your rattling?

Take the car back and tell them you dont want it.
Tell them they are required under warranty to fix an issue that was not there when you drove off the lot and if they DO NOT fix the issue or give you a new car you will take this BREACH OF CONTRACT to your lawyer. Add that you have spoken with many owners online witnessing the same issue in their ilx and you will not hesitate to get them and any other owners involved as well in a class action.

Put your damn foot down or stop coming here with your negativity. I understand you have spoken with many dealerships many times but id be willing to bet that you are walking in there and politely filing some claim that takes the mechanics two weeks to even look at. Walk in, start yelling and demand the owner. Fuck dude they sold you a 30 thousand dollar car, that doesnt happen every day, they NEED your business. Walk in and demand shit stop pussy footing around.

How much are you willing to bet?

When ACURA is stating that this is a NORMAL CHARACTERISTIC OF THE CAR, it will be difficult to go the lemon law route.

Stop jumping to conclusions young man! It's getting annoying now.

Id be willing to bet a lot because if that was my car the issue would have been fixed or I would have a new ILX.

Your car is under warranty. The dealership is REQUIRED to fix an issue that arises after you drive off the lot under the warranty. Them not fixing the issue under warranty is fraudulent. They are breaching their contract and you are just sitting on the internet getting frustrated over it.

And your age makes you no wiser. Enjoy your lemon.

Slow down young fella. You don't know what I did, or didn't do thus far.

Did you not read what I wrote. ACURA CORPORATE is claiming there is nothing wrong with the car. In short (behind closed doors); they don't have a fix at the moment.

So speak to whoever "corporate" is. Ive worked for enough companies that give customers the run around to avoid paying out what they NEED to pay out. If companies give people the run around long enough people tend to just deal with it.

You said you gave up and have more than once explained all your dealership complaints. Hence why ive made assumptions on what you have done and not done. Not once have you said you raised your voice so I assume youve not. Not once have you claimed to demand to speak with the highest position possible, so I assume you have not.

I garantee the CORPORATE ENTITY KNOWN AS ACURA didnt tell you there was nothing wrong. Some asshole manager in the service department or the GM of the service departments is telling you they have no fix. So fuck the service department. Go to sales. They sold you a lemon, no one elses car is acting like this but maybe 4 others. THAT IS A LEMON. Service center wont care about your lemon. Sales will if you threaten to bring lawyers involved.
