I always have a crate of books in my trunk, since I'm teach college courses. I have never heard any noise from back there. I guess that the added weight on the trunk floor lid doesn't allow it to raise.

There is. It's been concluded that the noise is coming from the newly designed STRUTS, rather than the trunk floor lid, as I had initially thought.

 

Hi all. Had my 2.4 ILX for 3 weeks now, and living in rural Ontario, i hit lots of bumps and pot holes. I TOO notice this noise and assumed trunk tray. I carry a fair bit of weight in the trunk, so have to be a serious bump to lift it.

 

It is not the trunk tray. Please refer to the "suspension noise" thread. Noise is coming from rear struts/shocks unfortunately.

I recommend you go back to your dealer and tell them. Make sure they write a ticket order for the complaint and look into it through tech-line. Also recommend you call Acura customer relations so that corporate is aware that ANOTHER person is experiencing these suspension noises.
