Has anyone supercharged or added in a turbo in their ilx?
And does anyone know a supercharger that will fit in the 2016 model?

 

We have two supercharged ILXs. Both have build threads here with ample info on their SC.

There is NO SC for the 2016. There isnt anything for the 2016 yet aside from maybe a set of coils.

 

Can you direct me to the user's with the SC

 

The current SC ILX's are around because the engine layout and design is almost identical to the existing 2012-15 Civic Si K24 platform. Since there is apparently enough clearance in the engine bays between the two they fit just fine (not sure if they require different ECUs/ReFlash between the Si/2.4 ILX though)


As far as the '16 models. Those have more in common engine wise with the existing 4 cyl Earth Dreams Accords. And those models also are fairly limited in their aftermarket/tuning support (Hondata only recently offering units for them)

Its rather unsure if anything will come for the '16 anytime soon, but I feel as more Honda/Acuras use the new DI style engines it will eventually happen.

Hell even the wacky R18 civics now have tuning options (took a good 3-4+ years from the initial model year production though)... and now they even engine internals...





All comes down to demand. If there are enough consumers out there with newer ILX's that are looking for SC/ECU tuning options, eventually the aftermarket will support it.

I have a supercharger in my ILX. Thread is called OSUs build or something. don't go on there much unless I change something but happy to help if I can. In the past, supercharger manufacturers have not made units for Honda/Acura cars with automatic transmissions very often (few expectations I'm sure) so not sure you will get one on the new ILX which has no manual option

 

To get the kraftwerks kit to fit perfectly, I had to bend a couple pinch welds, run slim fans, and cut a hole in the hood. Other than that everything bolts up with minor modifications.
