SOOOOO talking to car audio forums people they claim i need an AudioControl LC2i with AccuBass since the ilx has a oem sub and amp built in over 100 watts. They said its to have nice clean sound as any aftermarket sub. BUT ive seen people use those cheap 11$ eBay resistor type RCA in line converters and get away with it. ?

The only thing I've found here is people swapping the oem sub for a kicker sub but no one has just falt out disconnected the oem sub and ran a sub box instead which is what im doing. I want cleaner deep bass i got a 10 inch 300 watt Rockford sub amp which is more powerful than any open-air kicker 8 inch sub most people here installed.

There has been a couple owners that have installed subs in proper enclosures, and yes that would definitely sound WAYYYY better than free air subs. My issue using the stock placement was vibration along the rear deck (no I didn't try dynomat etc).

I personally wouldn't try those cheap ebay resistors, they probably do not work as well and do not have as much variable options like the LC2i has.
