They're in Plano, TX and I am in Fort Worth, it's a little over an hour drive for me, but none of the shops in my area have responded so honestly and professionally to my requests.. The GM immediately was honest in saying that he wasn't sure what all tools would be required, ect for it vs the cars they typically do. So they wanna take a look before they get me going for a failure! I'd be willing to pay for the reputation.. trusting them with my baby after all.

I am doing okay. I mean I honestly make a modest salary less than 6 figures by far. I had the fortunate luck that my family grew up pretty poor but my mom went to school got us out of the "hood" and it has given me a lot of opportunity to work. I don't think I'd be anywhere if she didn't get us out of that situaiton. From fry cook to financial advisor to Quality Analyst.. I hope I can keep going up from here! (not that you asked for my life story lol)

I definitly figured you would have some input being that you have Subies that's (I think) their primary line of work is Evos and Rexs.. So, I assume by "LUCKY YOU" you mean I should definitely let them take my car?

hondas are similar in engine design to the evos and easier to work on than the subarus. Cobb should able to handle it. First time I ever installed any type of forced induction on an NA car was a comptech supercharger for the Acura TL. It was pretty straightforward and easy. Then I did a greddy turbo on an 8th gen Civic SI.. neither were too difficult to do and I only had typical maintenance work experience at the time. On a 350Z though.. now that was pretty aggravating. Vortech supercharger wasnt too bad, but a twin turbo kit... I dont think I ever knew so many curse words at the same time.

and yes, I would love to have Cobb work on my car, especially if they were going to do any tuning work after the install

eh, dyno tuning is only good for full-throttle. You get better dd driving ability from a street tune, which is why flashpro is so great. It offers datalogging and tons of tuners know how to work with it.

That's good to know. I am sure he just wants to double check it, it's better to be safe than risk disappointing someone I am sure.

Well, I am excited then I know a man that has cars like yours wouldn't want just anyone getting their grubby paws all over it. Hopefully they can do better than $1,600... that shop I think was just confused on what I was asking.

I will find out what Cobb charges probably the weekend after this one. The manager seemed excited for the opportunity to work on an Acura though!

either one is fine depending on application.. For the subaru, I would try to get as much power quick without the turbo tapering off towards redline. Plus, its mostly for track use.

as for the daily, flashpro all the way.

Nice! I wish i had more time to do these things. I just like working on cars, even if I don't work at a shop.. Good to have garage space to take on projects whenever I do have time slots open!

Guys, what do you think about this dual tip exhaust? Got quoted 480 for it? I'd need to add resonators. Only problem is that it's made by Takeda

I wish my dad (I say him because he has a bunch of power & air tools) had a lift and the tools necessary to do the front differential cause I'd take a crack at it... but it's so much easier to do on a RWD car. :\

I like the way it sounds, kinda.. it would look good if you got your bumper cut. Would be very Euro-style... probably fits our car better than the Civic

Trent, where did you hear the takeda exhaust? I fixed the chop, though it still looks off.

yes, definitely true. lifts make life much easier.

eh.. its hard to really justify any kind of muffler tips on this car. its just really annoying not having a precut bumper to accommodate a proper muffler.
i think dual tips would be nice if done right though.

I don't think dual tips would fit as they'll hit the part where the bumper folds inwards.

It would fit and look fine if you cut around the shield that is behind the bumper.. take a look it's this shape >

3" full race DP(w/ cat)/Cat-back then I am debating on cuting right at the shield which would like like the line I just posted or doing an upside down U. I read up on the mustang forums and BMW forums.. they do it all the time, seems straight forward with a dremel.

I'd like to add I assume a lot of hearing the exhaust in this car is because it's dumped down.. dumped exhaust bounces off the concrete and back to the car no matter what.. I don't care if it is in the back.

I plan on undercoating the car next week... you think that will make a big difference? I know when i pulled the fender liners down and sound deadened them it took care of the howling noises from the tires pretty well.

YES, there is already a thin coat that Acura put on there but I wanna do this as well.. how much is it gonna run you? Did you just do a rubber-like undercoat on the fenders?

Powerhouse Racing has a great reputation in the Supra community for TX. They have built 8 & 9 second Supras and the Supra owners are pretty confident in them.. they just quoted me @ $650.. probably gonna have to pull the trigger as I am imagining that Cobb will be charging 800+ (I'll still give Cobb a chance)

no, standard h11 bulbs. I don't need the extra brightness as the stock hid is plenty enough. Plus I didn't want to deal with the hassle or associated issues people get with aftermarket HID kits.

I got the H9 65 watt ion yellow halogen bulbs. the yellow is very strong and you can see the beam through the stock HID's.

I hate aftermarket HIDs. They all suck. they eventually flicker and look cheap in the long run.

Not if you spend good money on the right company. I bought some for my Mustangs and the kit was near $350 but it was well worth and lasted over 4 years.
