No new ILX owners in Acurazine yet?
No new ILX owners in Acurazine yet?
Hi everyone,
I am eager to see new ILX owners post their pictures, describe their new ride and all that good stuff. So far, just comments about what people test drove, what dealers have in stock etc. Wonder why that is?!?.....

But Weather, it does come in White Pearl so maybe you should get one to add to your collection???? Take one for the team!
Actually Acurazine is very reliable indicator of vehicle sales.
see when 2G TSX and 4G TL were introduced. both have nearly identical sales each year. so you see nearly similar signup for both vehicles.
Now compare 3G TL and 1G TSX sections. 3G TL has nearly twice the members of 1G TSX signup. and that was reflected in sales between 2004-2008. 3G TL sold alot more than IG TSX.
If you dont see alot of signup for ILX. it is probably not going to sell well. see ZDX section.

Just too Slow
You might have had a new owner here, but my test drive last weekend completely ruled it out. The ILX is just too slow. I'm not a fast driver and I am approaching 40 real fast, so serious hps are not necessary, but the ILX 2.0 is just too disappointing.
When I test drove the 2006 TSX back then, the automatic just didn't have the torque. The MT changed my mind, and I have been happy. Looking for a smaller luxury car now, and the ILX seemed perfect, but with the lack of pick up, it just isn't for me. And being a busy father and the need to have a hand free to pick up a phone call, I can't do an MT any more (don't tout Bluetooth handsfree to me, it sucks on the 06). I told the salesman, if you had a AT 2.4, I would consider it.

well i found out that the ilx is selling...here are the may 2012 sales figures, in which you'll see that the newly facelifted tl is selling extraordinarily well (they probably won't axe that model until late 2013, thought its tech is very outdated). The RDX's sales surprised me given the fact that it is so new. But, yea the ilx went on sale on may 22nd and you'll see that people are in fact buying it (more so than the zdx, at least):
Probably going to wait. Though I would like to test drive a few: A3 TDI, Lexus hybrid, and maybe the IS250. But, who knows maybe in 6 months Honda will realize they need to put the AT2.4 out there.

If phone calling is your only misgiving about the 2.4 MT, you should give it a try. The BT on my TL works flawlessly; after using it, I could never get used to driving with a handheld phone again. (I'm assuming, of course, that the BT tech on the ILX is at least as good as my TLs). I think you might be surprised how far that technology has progressed from your '06.
^^^^ What he said! I use the bluetooth on my TL and it is just amazing without maybe 1 drop for every 40 calls I make. I couldn't live without it now that I am use to it!
Rocket_man.....Don't even joke about that! When I picked up the RDX, I came close to making a deal on an ILX (lease) for about 335$ a month zero down all taxes in everything out the door for 48 months. The whole point of buying the 3rd car was that I don't drive my Acura's in the rain so I bought a little Hyundai Accent instead for 250$ a month taxes in zero down and a purchase instead of a lease... The idea of a white ILX would have been amazing except then I would have had to build an extension to the house for a 3 car garage (or show room) and then but a 4th car to drive in the rain *lol*

I was able to sit in an ILX today while my wife and I were out shopping. I think it is very nice inside. Slightly smaller than my 1G TSX, but nicer materials. I didn't get a chance to drive it. It was a black and parchment Tech. My wife likes it more than my TSX but it is too expensive for her.

The dealer I was at today only had 3 ILX's. One out front, two still being prepped. Still too new to see what kind of numbers it will sell. But just about anything out sells the ZDX.
EDIT: Except for the RL!

My wife and I looked at one. But felt that the price is a little beyond what we wanted to spend at this time, would have needed to secure alternative financing as well.
I ended up with a 2012 VW GLI. 1st non-japanese car, driven Honda or acuras since 92. Drives better, just hoping the car is somewhat reliable. I may be back into the honda/acura brand sooner than expected.
Only keep interest in this sight because my father is interested in this car now.
But I think he wants something bigger and doesn't want to pay the price for the TL.

I've loved it when I've driven it, but unfortunately I haven't driven it as much as I would like yet. I'm still living in NYC, so its hard to get it out and break it in. My plans to take a short road trip to Boston were scuttled.
The car handles great. So different than the hondas I've driven. A lot more road feel. Very Torquey. Still getting used to all the controls and the touch screen radio.
I guess true test is how many problems I experience as time goes on.

I met an ILX owner at my gas station a couple days ago when I was filling up the wagon. He was in his early 30's, no kids and recently married. It was a 2.0 with tech. Sharp looking car
He loved it, was driving from Seattle to San Francisco. Claimed he was averaging 36 mpg and enjoying the ELS system. I told him to join us on Acurazine

New Owner here! Love it enough power for some fun but not so much I get into trouble. I drive Tow Truck for a living and I rarely tow acuras that was the selling point for me. So far just over 1000km and can't wait for a mini road trip on days off! I also don't like having the same car as everyone else, I like to be unique and my wife thinks it is sexy! and 16 dollar pinstripe made the ohhhhh into an awwwww!
New ILX owners
I have a 2014 ILX 2.4 bought new on 9/30/13 and just turned over 1,000 miles. I didn't drive it much from Dec 1 thru March 1 as I don't drive it in the snow. I live in Erie,PA and it's been a brutal winter and I usually drive my snow tire equipped 2011 MDX in bad weather. I really like the car because I enjoy the manual transmission and the small size of the car. I don't like that it has a lot of road noise over 60 mph. So far it averages about 26 mpg in combined driving. I have been working on learning to shift better without jerking when I let out the clutch.
