New ILX owner
Hey just introducing myself, just got a 2014 base ilx 3 days ago. First time ever getting a brand new car and an automatic(6 SPD was out of my range). I owned Hondas before this - a 91 civic hatch and a 98 civic sedan but they stole the sedan so now I have a ILX. Hopefully good times ahead. I'll post up pics later but nothing anyone here hasn't seen yet lol.

I'm sure I will, first ever new car and it's a car recently released so it's kind of cool being on the frontier I guess lol. I saw your thread yesterday before I signed up. You lowered yours right?

Nice purchase.
As stated you'll live it.
Did you mod the civics at all?
Sucks one got stolen. What state?
And what color 2.0 did you get?!

OP....congrats on your new ILX. That is a great looking car and I am sure you will come to appreciate the qualities of being an Acura owner and a member of Acurazine.
As usdmJON asked...what color?

Thanks for the welcoming. It's a crystal black ILX, even though it's harder to keep clean. It's cool I don't see many around here, I've only seen 3 since I've owned the car and maybe 2 before that.
I live in FL and the civics had a few things done. The sedan was lowered on rpf1s w/ exhaust. The hatch was my first car and current project. I tore it down and it's getting rebuilt now. Will be a turbo B20vtec when it's all done.
I love the ILX as a daily I feel like I'm driving a loaded Mercedes or something as my "features" were power windows and optional AC lmao. It just needs a little more power though so I'm hoping the R18 parts bolt up and work effectively - mainly some ECU tuning or reflash of some sort.

The r18 parts work great.
No flashpro for our car but aem and others have tuning options we can use.
As well there is a supercharger that passes smog for our cars.

Yes r18 have been supercharged and turboed.
What do you mean by other options?

I meant other options for tuning fuel, ignition, etc. I guess having an older Honda spoiled me with tuning options lol. I heard this car shares suspension parts with the civic as well? So suspension shopping would just be looking for a 9th gen civic? Thanks for the info too.

Well I've been putting in trench work to get visors made, So those should come out "soon"... Also yes, to really get parts, you mostly gotta piggy back off of available civic parts. Right now I'm trying to purchase under body bracing bars from FKX and/or Tanabe and Megan. urprisingly these mofo's have yet to write me back... I'm not even looking for a hookup... WTF... I'm just trying to buy the stupid bars.... frustrating... And then we also got Progress and Eibach sway bars, and multiple spring and coilover options.

You are correct OP.
Suspension wise I believe even SI parts will fit both the 2.0 and the 2.4
The r20 can use pretty much anything designed for the r18 minus hondata flashpro because its only suited for the 1.8l and wont for the 1.6 or 2.0.
So if you find some fuel and ignition options for the r18 it should work no issues on your cars.
So far I have an intake from a 2012 r18 civic, springs, rear lower brace, and downpipe. All fit perfect.
Others have installed rear sway bars, front lower braces, and exhaust from the civic. All fit perfect as well minus the exhaust because we have no cut out but that can be changed by hanging the exhaust lower or cutting a little out of the bumper.

Ok that's some useful info. I'm going to try my best to get some dyno runs of what gains we could expect on the 2.0, I'm not really too concerned about suspension beyond springs/struts or possibly coilovers because this car isn't seeing the track lol. I'm really curious about the gains from intake and downpipe.

Congrats on the new ride!
I have a '14 base 2.0 too and first thing I did was DIY HID head lights. Very simple and great results.
Trying to do LED lights all around inside out but need to get the right color and brightness, so far it is challenging with these eBay stuff.

I think the dome lights are LED already, at least the fronts are. I want some HIDs as well especially since this car has projectors but I need some power first.

You can find a ready made kit on (LED interior and license plate bulbs) putco .com believe its all white. If you want color (blue/ red) ijdmtoy.com. Save yourself the annoyance of buying individual one's online and finding out they don't fit right...

Thanks guys.
Fitment isn't an issue so far, but brightness and color temp is.
I'm quite picky and want a subtle classy look.
For rear dome I want an exact 3500-4000K color temp, not warm white (2700K) not cool white (6500K). The front dome is about 3500K.
License plate was easy and I got great 5000K white lights.
Next is tail lights (T20 dual filament red) but so far nothing matches OEM brightness for both city lights and brake lights.
I got two pair of lights one which meets brightness of city but too dim for brakes and the other pair is the opposite good brightness for brakes but too bright for city.
Once I get the tail lights figured out then blinkers are next.
