Can't wait to see what color you go with! Going to be sweet regardless Im sure.
You should maybe CF wrap the silver plastic piece and maybe the plug cover as well.

Haha im in love with the color itself! Im gunna end up painting those black or something. I wish they made custom valvestems for the TPMS sensors.
But no bends, just light rashes

Black works too. I looked at a shot of the 2.4 bay after your post and noticed the two covers hide a good portion of the VC. Black will look good. I have plans to go real subtle with the bay and probably go a nice high gloss piano black for the VC and a bunch of other pieces under the hood. As well as some polished bits and maybe some random textures like black wrinkle.

You willing to tell us what color you went with? I know you're the teasing type

vinyl wrap might cause it to leak out so I thought paint would end up being a better choice so i could mask the bottom. And yeah, The spark plug cover and intake manifold cover. I was something simple for my engine bay also.

Hahaha aite, ill let this one slip. I forgot the name of the color but its similar to Rays Volk Racing Hyper Blue, except its a deeper blue

Kinda jealous. Since I have a lot of chrome, if I do some kind of candy or gloss color it would not work. Maybe a really dark color tho, like a deep red or midnight blue.... You should look at doing a black or carbon wrap on the roof too, the color contrast on your car would look great. Plus protects roof paint in the long run, one of the first parts of the paint to go. Gotta keep that fresh paint - resale value man.

Haha at first I was going for mag blue because I love the black and white. But everyone around here seems to be rocking mag blue. I decided to go for a more vibrant color like the hyper blue but it wasn't called hyper blue so garret at CTE powdercoating suggested this other color and I fell in love with it. if that made any sense haha.

Little update, my car will finally be back on the road next week. Picking up my wheels, valvecover, centercaps and wheel decals next week. Also put in an order for project kic's r40 lug nuts.

Anyways, here's a flashback Friday lol

Greetings. New to the forum as I will purchasing my ILX next week. Any recommendations on where I can buy the LED lights for the license plate? I'm looking for bulbs rather than the entire unit. Thanks in advance

Welcome ! Sucks that they aren't oem, I bought mine from a local performance shop. The brightest bulbs I've seen were the gluxlite ones. But if you only wanna spend like $4, I'd go on eBay. There's a thread floating around here with the sizes along with other led sizes.

Oh wow. The apex blue is pretty close too.
I've seen one of those blues on an s2 with mag blue terms and a spoon kit. I figured that was an aftermarket laguna Seca but it was probably an oem apex or laguna blue pearl. The name is uncanny too.

I've never seen that lime green s2k. Wtf?!

Was it the one on te37's?

I believe only half of those colors were available in the US. Mainly the RED lol. I have never seen the green, purple or brown ever.

The te37's were available in any color rays offered. Except for the TE37SL, those were exclusively available in Pressed graphite grey and the Black edition.

But heres both blue's that volks come in. Magnesium Blue on the left and Hyper Blue on the right.

They aren't mounted yet, I promise lol. I'm waiting for my carbon fiber hood and trunk so I can wash my car before I throw them on. Anyways I did install the skunk2 header/downpipe. Didn't get to start it yet since I'm waiting to adjust my valves and then throw the valvecover back on.!

I was thinking of getting the buddy club P1 Racing Zen wheels in silver/polish, or ESPECIALLY the silver /black. They look pretty similar to these SSR's, except the SSR's are 12 spoke and the Zen's are 15 spoke. I can get all 4 for around $1000 bucks, + tires. Pretty good price for real wheels. They are the only buddy club wheels I could find in 19x8.5. They have a few options at 18x8.5 tho. I think they fit in well with my VIP/ JDM inspired build, plus the SSR's looked good on SlaamedILX's car, so I think it will look good. I looked up the stock wheel weight of our wheels , its 32 lbs each. The Buddy club zen wheel is 23.8 lbs (18's are even lighter). Thats 8 lbs lighter per wheel (32 lbs lost, or one OEM wheel), plus 2 inches bigger in diameter and 1.5 wider. Because of unsprung weight effect, this is a huge performance and looks gain. Even MPG will increase. Still not sold tho, only because I'd really like some 3 piece wheels, like SSR Professor Ms1's or something meshy like that. But my wallet will probably convince me to join the buddy club.

Feel free to bag on my possible wheel choice people. Want feed back. By the way, very curious to see the overall flow of this car with the carbon fiber, blue wheels, front splitter... very aggresive looking ILX. Are you going to add a rear spoiler like the Endurance Racer ILX? although that would look outlandish on other ILX's, it would match your car. You've stated before that you are going for a time attack type of car (maybe misquoting) or actually race inspired correct? So that type of spoiler would make sense. APR performance is actually located in Pomona, Ca so they could just build the same you one ya know? Just sayin...

Last but not least nice pickup on the Skunk2 downpipe. Gotta support the So Cal local companies in our own backyard. Buddy club is also coming out with a downpipe. OSU beaver was offering to sell his RV6 one, I'm waiting to see options available, final pricing and reviews (HINT HINT). And other mods have my attention first. Random - APR could also build you a carbon fiber front splitter, its actually comparably priced to the aeroflow splitter.

Definitely want to see a picture the valve cover installed. Would be unique compared to the red valve covers, I usually see.

Photo bucket is down atm. I'll upload some crappy pics first thing tomorrow before I drop the car off at Megan Racing for R&D.

Nice - what parts are gonna be developed? More options is a good thing. Although right now if it's underbracing, FKX bars are built better. Triple ribbed and Megan is single. On a 9th gen forum they literally sawed the 2 bars in half to compare them. Even the Tanabe bar was only 1 rib

But free is free - I would pay for a 3 inch cat-back exhaust system, but I test-fitted and I'm getting a free 2.5inch cat-back. Beggars can't be choosy.

Good thing it's R&D parts for the carbon fiber hood and trunk. The endurance ILX racer kept their stock aluminum hood because it was lighter then a regular hood and had more structural integrity then carbon fiber. They just vented theirs. I had a company offer to make me the hood and trunk or $1000 each. HAHA yeah right. Hell no, waste of money. I'd take a free one tho I guess. For sure I would look into a carbon trunk for real weight savings if I was Time Attacking. But $1000 man I don't think so...
