Leak? Driver side carpet wet spot.
I was vacuuming my car earlier, post Nor'easter we just had. As i removed the driver side carpet, I noticed a wet spot on the carpet soaked. Wonder where it's coming from. May need to take it in tomorrow once AGAIN.
Love the car but all these "kinks" are driving me nuts.

Silly question, have you driven it lately with wet shoes? That spot is right where you right heel would be when engaging the throttle. It makes a perfect slope to pool water at that spot...All weather mats above the carpet?

I don't see how that pool can be formed beneath the floor mats, penetrating through the mat to form a isolated soaked spot. I don't have all weather mats yet.

It should be easy enough to test. Pull out a mat and pour some water on it to see if puddles or soaks through. I'll bet that the current backing is pourous vs. the old rubber backed mats with the little 'nubbies' (<- car biz technical term). On a side note, hope you did ok with the storm.

Did some web surfing... "check the cowl (the well outside the car where the wipers sit under the bottom of the windshield. The cowl well is supposed to collect water draining from the windshield. The cowl is equipped with drain holes. There may be a seam where sheetmetal comes together in the cowl area that is not sealed good. You can try pouring water into the vents at the rear of the hood so the water goes into the cowl, and see if the water appears to enter the vehicle under the dash."
Good place to start...

Sounds like a very possible explanation! Water inside the car doesn't evaporate very quickly, unless it's very hot or the doors and windows are left open. I suspect the water underneath the mat has been there for a while and the mat above it keeps it from drying.

the carpet mats aren't water proof. you probably kept getting in and out with wet shoes and the water just accumulated in one spot on teh carpet mat, soaked through and hit the carpet under the mat. that one spot looks pretty obvious that its from your foot...at least to me...

Driver side door
I posted this in response to another topic, but I am beginning to suspect there is some kind of defect in the driver's side door and/or window. Two days ago I drove in heavy rain. Two days later the driver's side window is still comes up wet when I roll it down and then back up. This doesn't happen on any of the other windows, i.e. I can roll them down wet and they come back up dry, not vice-versa.

I've read a topic about a defect in the sunroof seal or a clog in the drains that cause the drivers side door to be drenched in water. However, it did not localize in a specific spot. Maybe you can check the drainage or invest in some rubber floor mats to rule out the obvious possibility.
