ILX Wish List

ILX Wish List
after owning the car now for 6 months, i decided to Speak to Acura Corporate to discuss a few things that i wished the car had, they were very open to suggestions and happy to hear my need to make the Acura Brand 'better', they took note and said they would pass it on to the engineers...
a few thing i talked to her about were:
what are other things you wish it had
a few thing i talked to her about were:
- lack of lumbar support
- lack of misc storage cubbies ( no loose change cubby, my 07 civic had cubbies on the left side of the steering wheel, no “ash tray” under radio)
- lack of matching LED lights for fog, reverse, lic plate and rear interior lights
- lack of rear interior light control from drivers position ( cant turn on lights from front seat if you are reaching to the back seat for something)
- noisy interior
- lack usb at front stack on Aspec , only accessible USB is in the arm rest, once that is full of junk its impossible to access the connection points,
- lack of usb or ‘cigarette lighter’ for back seat passengers (daughter’s ’05 RSX has one for back seat passengers
- no sunglass holder by sunroof controls
- mirrors don’t tilt down in reverse (07 TL-S had it)
- no courtesy lights in doors
- when trunk is open fully water drips off the edge directly into the trunk, I have the trunk tray so its not a really big deal , but should have been designed to have a drip edge possibly to avoid the dripping into the trunk and possibly run off to the sides…
- the plastic cover over the P R N D S next to the shifter gets scratched too easily, have scratches that have been buffed out with plastic polish but have come back from simple cleaning..
- back of key (2016 – Shiny side) is prone to scratching
- lack of android auto for non Apple phones
- like the fact that you can put all windows down and open sun roof on Hot days but wish there was an all up mode also once you got in the car...
- lack of A-Spec Spoilers for the front and rear, only sides
what are other things you wish it had

Pretty comprehensive list, and a lot of these I agree with. (I have a 2013, though). You'll have to let us know if you hear anything back. I presume at this point the engineers are already well into development of the 2nd gen ILX. Betting we'll see that launch as a 2018 model year.

That's not a bad list, but the problem is cost cost cost.
I mean, imagine what you paid for your car- would you be willing to pay another, say, 4k on top of that to get everything? I have a feeling that although some would say yes, many would start looking towards the bigger TLX instead.
I think that's Acura's (and all car makers) problem. They can only add in so many features before they infringe on the next model up.

The only real response was that the TLX was too big for their taste and they wanted everything the TLX gave in a car the size of the ILX. I expect that is just too niche for acura models. Maybe an A4 or CLA is a better idea as i believe they are similar in size but offer the luxuries their respective companies offer.
If you cant afford the audi or merc then you cant afford all these extra creature comforts.

For those of you with the manual transmission on your ilx wish list... It looks like 2017 may actually bring back the manual. Its not official though. Also new center stack.

Site was put up by someone overseas... likely has people spamming URL on sites/forums to drive traffic to it. Or gullible people like you (?) linking to it. Just look at the broken English. What a joke.
2017 Acura ILX Design
Acura has done it again by producing an overwhelming luxurious sedan. The 2017 Acura ILX is going to be having significant changes with it which will be giving it a whole new appearance. The front fascia of ILX will be refreshed giving it distinction from the Civic model. The grille will be having more chrome detailing than before making it a lot more prominent in every way. The head lights beside the grille will be reshaped as well and will be having advanced LED technology housed inside them. The reshaped lights will give the model a totally refreshed and fierce new look. Talking about the back of the sedan, the tail lights will be restyled as well. Advanced LED technology is going to come along with them and with all the lights present on the exterior. Chrome detailing will not be present only on the front grille but also around the windows and slightly at the back. Summing it up, the entire look of the upcoming model will be unique and pretty contemporary.
Coming inside the cabin of the 2017 Acura ILX new features will be seen. The dashboard will be loaded with new equipment having upgraded technology. The compact luxury car is going to have a tilting steering wheel with the upgraded cluster of speed gauges. Comfortable seats with air bags for security will be present. ILX can hold inside five passengers easily.
2017 Acura ILX Engine Features
Under the hood of the 2017 Acura ILX, there is going to be a four-cylinder 2.4-liter engine producing 201 horsepower and 180 ft-lb torque. This engine is going to have an eight-speed automatic transmission available with it.
The engine will be giving a better fuel economy to the consumers.

I would be very surprised of any major changes for 2017 as 2016 just saw a MMC which was pretty significant compared to pre-MMC.

You should "take ya lil minon ass back to school" to learn proper spelling and grammar.

Ok. Back on topic. Let me add to the list too.
I wish the next ILX will have a new jewel eye headlight design. Since Lincoln copied Acura's jewel eye headlight design, I'm worried people will think Acura's copying Lincoln, Audi, etc. even though we all know that Acura were the ones who invented them first.
The ILX should also have fog lights standard... like how all Acura's did 10, 20, and 30 years ago.

My wish list would be... a front end that looks less like a civic.
Rear LED tails that dont look like tuner mag altezza lights. More like the TLX. Simpler with still an obvious LED touch.
Either no more of this A-Spec cosmetic bullshit without at least some sort of A-Spec performance suspension work or ditch the aspec trim all together as right now it is literally just a name to make sales like the Cali Edition TL.

I bought multiple Hondas\Acuras for the last 20 + years - civic, accord, Pilot, tsx, mdx, rdx, ilx. Currently have rdx and ilx. MDX got totaled, tsx went to daughter. All my previous cars (up to 2016 RDX and ILX ) have been excellent. RDX kinda disappointed but I can live with it. ILX is the worst car I have ever owned. It was huge mistake from my side, still cannot understand why I have bought it.

...and I went from a 2005 TL...to a 2016 ILX Tech Plus A-Spec....and am very happy with the car......I'm 73 and retired
...worst problem preventing full enjoyment...is city traffic, potholes and construction on roads

I'm in my 40s and currently also own 06 RL and 08 RDX. I think the 16 ILX is great and for what it costs is exactly what I've expected. Note that it can be bought for approximately $4000 under invoice, which makes it a screaming deal given all the upgrades of the '16 model.
