ILX MPG numbers.

ILX MPG numbers.
Hey ILX-ers. So short and simple. Please state at the beginning of the post - ILX model/engine type, and lowest and highest MPG achieved. Then please list actual average numbers, then list/describe mods, driving conditions, passengers, variables like that. Then, if possible, please provide picture proof for verification.
Ill start off.
ILX 2.4 stick - Low-24 MPG High-36 MPG Average number - high 20's nowadays because of mixed driving, but when I first got it, 30mpg/per tank - all day, everyday.
Mods - DC Catback, Injen cold air intake, skunk2 header/downpipe. Lowered on Swift Springs. Upgraded to bigger rear sway bar, have various FKX racing suspension bars. Other mods, but not anything else that I think would affect MPG.
Conditions. 36 MPG achieved driving back from San Diego average speed was 65-70 MPH. I filled up prior to leaving, tank was reset. I used the hills to coast down, probably could have done even better if I kept it at 60-65. Will try for 38 mpg for fun in the future. Trunk was full of gear, I weigh about 210 lbs right now - so I'd say comparable to empty trunk but maybe 2 average adults. Traffic was slow and rainy at first. Weather cleared up towards the end.
24 MPG (slightly lower even) happened under 2 different conditions - heavy city driving/ driving aggressively in the city. Also happened driving to San Diego at around 125 MPH. The cars limiter kicks in at 130mph.
Pic proof coming of 36 mpg.
Could I possibly get 40 MPG with a tune? Hmm... we'll see one day. What about wheels? If i get some lightweight and bigger/ wider wheels id get grippier and lose some important weight... I think 40 MPG at 65mph with a tune and lighter wheels is possible.

Hey guys. Here's the pic. To clarify - I hit as high as 36.4 mpg. But this 36mpg was not just a high point I hit during the trip, it was the average for the trip. It was actually 36.2 all highway, but went down to 36 by the time I drove through the city to my house. I also hit 80+ MPH at least 2 or 3 times.
Trip took about 2 and a half hours. When Ive driven 125 mph Ive made the trip in easily less then an hour.
Right now the highest MPG I've seen was Team3d's ILX hit as high as 38.something. But it was high point. Not trip average. Still pretty high.

*Team3d also has a 2.4 stick. At that time I believe he had only suspension upgrades. Cmon guys - whats your MPG?
*I also left out one other suspension mod I have which may affect MPG. I have H&R 25mm Trak+ wheel spacers at all 4 corners.

Nice numbers Colin. I need to not be a leadfoot. It's both irresponsible and costly over time. Hopefully seeing some more numbers gives me the motivation to chill the fuck out. Not gonna lie tho... Its really fun to just let her roar a little. Making High MPG's kind of a game was pretty fun tho, it made traffic a lot less stressful.

The 2.4 is too fun to drive. While living in Florida I drove mostly longer trips on the highway and usually averaged 30-32 MPG. In California I'm only doing short city trips and typically fall around 25-26 MPG. I've got an AEM CAI, Magnaflow axleback, and 18x9.5 XXR wheels probably raising the weight a bit.

Best tank: 48MPG (Crusing ~60-65MPH up & down the 95 corridor between Washington, DC & NYC)
Worst Tank: 33MPG (Very aggressive driving through NYC - slamming on accelerator & brake)
Average Tank: 42MPG (~80% 65-70 MPH Hwy cruising & 20% city cruising)

Has anyone ever found the sweet spot (in terms of fuel efficiency at cruising speed) on the 2.4 6MT?
I averaged 32 mpg @ 2,400 RPM on 6th gear going about 59mph +/- (within a distance of approximately 150 miles). I started to lose fuel efficiency as I went past 65 mph.

I think you should also readup on how to drive a stick in a fuel efficient manner. Simple stuff like speeding up/ gunning it at the top of hill and then coasting down. There's a lot of techniques, but honestly some are too annoying to follow through on. If I was super strict on it, and pretty skilled - it could be "possible" to maybe even hit 40 MPG - but then you're doing stuff like coasting behind trucks and stupid, possibly dangerous, stuff like that.
Im gonna try to hit 38 MPG in a safe real world driving example.

still getting 24mpg, 2.4L 6spd, but 100% all city driving
Also I'm calculating mpg via fuelly or direct calculation (i.e. total miles driven on a tank divided by gallons of fuel pumped in).
The car's dash computer tells me I'm getting 26mpg otherwise
Car's readout tends to be 1-2mpg higher
