Drove my friends 2013 Accord Sport 6MT.. this features the new 2.4L Earth Dreams motor.. The car handles better, steering feels better, the interior quality is the same if not a bit better, it's most definitely quieter and just as fast... did I mention it gets better gas mileage than my ILX? Guess I agree with everyone on the net now... All hail the new Hondas and shame on Acura.

Anyone know if there's been any new news on these engines making it into the ILX anytime soon?

Just looking for a little education on this engine subject. I felt when I bought the 2.0 liter ILX that it was a very dependable and fuel effient engine. Civic based, I thought was a good thing, with proven reliability. I was looking for a proven design. I will be happy if at the end of my 30k mile lease if it had been trouble free and fuel efficient, I might buy it. What would be the advantage in buying a new designed unproven engine over the current design? I know buying a Honda designed engine that is a new design might not be a huge risk, but it seems like this 2.0 liter would be the better way to go?

When I get to the purchase point, I'm aiming for the 2.4 anyway.

More power, greater fuel economy. The 2.4L ED engine is in the new Accord.

And I would say the new motor is still proven. It's just another variant of the K24 and I am sure that was the one thing Honda wouldn't want to mess up.
