This is something iv been trying to get done for months. So finally I baked 1.
So the first pic is just the amber corner taken out. The rest is the DRL reflector piece blacked out, H.I.D housing piece blacked out and I started to black out the corner reflector part but I ran out of electrical tape. This just gives an idea of how it can look. I have a few more ideas I would like to try before I actually paint it. Its gonna be a bit of a process because its way too cold here to paint and I dont have a garage. Also my ILX is in storage. Hopefully this gives fellow ILXers ideas and maybe someone will get to it before I will. When I get my other ideas roughed in I will post pics and ofcourse when the acura comes out of storage and the lights are finished ill post up pics.. Enjoy
All the tape is removed. I want to paint the turn reflector piece yellow (with van yellow translucent paint). Once I do that, I'll know where I want this to go. I'm almost 100% curtain on the way my headlights are going to be. I need to test with the yellow paint so I can be sure on my decision.
I really like the look of the lights without the amber. I applaud your large cajones for taking that expensive housing apart. I've baked many lights but wouldn't dare risk touching the housing on the ILX.

I found a good deal online for the set of these headlights. I'v baked a few headlights in my day, but I have never experienced a headlight like the ilx headlight. by taking the headlight apart and seeing how its put together in so many pieces, it has opened up my eyes to so many different ways and styles to customize the headlights..
I'm just waiting until it warms up and I will post up the other ideas I have.
i finish the paint on the one headlight. i love how it looks! only issue is these are a used set of headlights and there are some scuffs on the chrome parts inside the headlight youd hardly notice it unless you looked close up im not too sure if imma keep these or buy another headlight and re do it non the less here they are.
ill post more pictures later on when it warms up and both are done! and ofcourse when they are on the car
Can't wait to see these back on the car but isn't a retrofit when you alter something to fit another car but with a natural look? I thought you were putting jewel eyes on.
To reply tho the past 2 statements. I had a few plans on these headlights but I changed my mind and this is what the end result is. here are the headlights side by side completed but not sealed!
some of you may like it and im sure some of you will dislike it...i like them and ill be the first out ILX there doing it
