Given the option, purchase the 2013 or 2014 2.4 Prem?
Guys, I am new here:
I used to have a Civic Si, and loved the engine and since I've always wanted a nice Acura, I'm finally in a position in my career where I can afford one. I've been looking at the ILX 2.4 Premium 6MT since it's got a proven engine, the same one I used to have in my Si, however was very cautious about getting a 1st generation of anything. I had a bad experience with a 1st generation purchase in the past.
There are still several 2013's that have not sold yet, and are new, and good deals are available, however does anyone know if any "bugs" have been worked out of the 2013s that have been fixed in the 2014, or is it identical? I did read some posts on here about some possible issues with the shocks/suspension, but don't know if any of that has been addressed in the 14's. I'm aware of some recall on the door lights that has been addressed already. Also did read here that some people were getting water stuck in their doors...
I don't have any way of figuring this out because I won't take a sales guy's word for it.
Thanks and hope you guys are liking the ILX. Look forward to getting one soon.

Just like you said most of the parts that would deter someone from purchasing a 1st year model have already been proven with the Civic Si so I would not worry like I would with a typical first year vehicle. Most the time I only wait if major compenents are in the first year of production (engine, trans, major stability traction control systems such as AYC etc)
Get the one you get the best deal on... most likely the 2013

The 13 will suit you fine, and you should be able to find a nice deal on it. My 6-speed ILX 2.4 was production #88, built in May 2012. No known mechanical issues and currently at around 49,000 miles. One recall around 2,500 miles for a door latch. Other than that, just oil changes. Original tires nearly gone.
Good luck and keep us posted.

Congrats. I'd change the rear sway bar because it made the car a bit more fun to drive and easier to control in high-speed situations. Plus the bar is only 110 bucks or so. Other than that, it's definitely fun stock.

Thanks guys. I was gunning for the polished metal metallic but none were available. Now that I've seen the silver Moon in person I'm happy with what I ended up making the deal on. Plus it'll always look clean.

Located in So Cal too if anyone has any good recommendations or referrals!

Is that before destination? If that's with everything before taxes that's hard to believe! I guess I'm not as good a negotiator as I thought!

Good luck I hope you get it. Sounds like a killer deal!

I was referring to the offer he got of 25,095. I offered 25,500 to one dealer for a 2013 and he quit communicating with me because he thought I was wasting his time. I wound up at 26,300 with the dealer installing the deck lid spoiler and I thought *that* was a good deal.
Good luck I hope you get it. Sounds like a killer deal!

They have only one, but like I mentioned before Crystal Black Pearl is not my first, second, or third choice lol..
I am thinking if I can get them to throw in some goodies on car, it would be something definitely worth considering!

Spoke to Bruce at Weir Canyon -- quoted me $26,201 but says if I show him the $25,095 - he can work something out.
Spoke to Raj at DCH Temecula -- quoted $25,802, but says he can go down to $24,995! I told him get me to $24,500
Still waiting on Metro Acura, Thomas Acura, Sierra Acura, and many more to get back lol..

Mine had a protection pkg and dealer will do spoiler install for $26,300+tax/fees.
Now I'm wondering if I could have done a lot better in my region

$25K is incredible. I'm in the Southeast and I could only find a small handful of 2013 2.4s left.. Only 3 in the colors I considered.

We will see when I actually drive the car off the lot lol

Yeah let us know how you end up doing. Good luck.

Let me clarify- the $25,095 did not include the $901 of accessories.
Currently right now the price I have a pending offer for is at $25,500 with no accessories lol..
Seems like everyone is hovering around $25,800 - $26,000
Will let you all know what happens!

OK well then the car isn't really being offered at $25,095. You had me going for a second there.

I have a 2013 ILX Hybrid and i'm now at 7,200 miles with the MID telling me my oil life is at 50%. Some bugs that I can probably think of are mostly form, fit, finish.
1) Tweeter plastic trim on the driver and passenger doors are popping off whenever the door is shut.
2) Door panel on driver's side has a snapped clip and creates some rattle
3) Road noise is pretty loud. 2014's might have more noise cancellation, thicker materials, or thicker windows etc. I'm not sure if the 2013 has the noise cancellation from the subwoofer transmitting opposite frequencies.
4) Handsfreelink communication quality is not very good. Most people that I talk to on the phone ask if my windows are down because it is really hard to hear me. I'm practically shouting to be heard. Not good.
5) Plastic trim that goes under the passenger front inside door handle randomly broke off when the door was shut (not slammed).

When I use Bluetooth it doesn't seem to bother who I'm talking to my wife never complains unless I'm in the canyons and reception sucks, and that's even after I installed a Spoon N1 axle back on it???
Maybe your speaker is messed up?

This could be the deal/steal of the year!

Actually on the red only because it's the only one in the lot, the red would be be shipped in from another dealer within their network. I told the dealer I was leaning towards the red unless they really make an impression on the black

Sorry for the delay!
Long story short, was at the dealer in Riverside for about 3 hours and walked out the door over dealer installed accessories. I got the price of the vehicle down to $24,300 + 901 (which was later reduced to $601) in dealer installed accessories which included the protection package. I thought it was still a good deal but my dad advised against it saying they could do better so we walked out.
Now fast forward to this week..
Looks like I'll be getting a 2014 Bellanova White ILX 6-speed this Saturday for $26,200 + tax and license.
