Fit and finish of ILX is driving me nuts

I have 2013 ILX 2.0 premium trim, and logged about 33,000 kms and had it since April 2013. Past 14 months, I would say so far the experience has been pleasant and I still love my car, however quality of the car is what driving me nuts.

Here are list of problems I have so far,
1) Gauge cover, upper portion to be exact, became somewhat loose, so if I'm driving low-mid speed, it starts to rattle like crazy.

2) When I'm making 90 degree turn (Either left or right), my steering wheel starts to making creeking noise. It's probably from plastics

3) My driver seat, sometimes it makes clunking noise, I'm not sure it's from metal support or spring, but it does really disturbs me sometimes.

I almost think, whoever did interior for my ILX, whether it's tier 1 company or Honda Indiana should be shot...or maybe my vehicle was built on Friday 5pm. ILX is my first car and I always thought Honda build car like a brick..but I guess not.

So today, I visited dealership and told about these rattling, creeking, clunking noise that I experience daily and their response is like "Wooo....well our tech have to inspect the vehicle, you have to pay $125 upfront for diagnosis fee and I'm not sure if it's covered by warranty". Yay

I really leased this vehicle to buy at the end, but I guess I will just return this as soon as the lease term is done. Anyone experienced this?

no reputable dealer would charge you to find out whats causing issues on a car that is under warranty, basically new.

That is crazy. I have never had that problem at my dealer. Your car is under warranty. Find another dealer.

I experienced the creaking noise while turning one or two weeks after purchasing the car. It took two trips to the dealer before it was taken in for repair, but it was fixed free of charge.

My buddy had a similar story with his 2010 subaru legacy.
It was under warranty and there was an issue with the brakes. They wanted him to pay to get the car looked at then if there was an issue they'd fix it.

He's now trading it in to another dealership. lol

I live in Canada, Toronto. Well, I didn't talk to advisor that I usually deal with because he was away. I will give them a call on Monday.

My seat makes the clunking noise at least once a day as well. Been debating if its worth a trip to the dealership for it or not. I live in the middle of nowhere country so its a trek for me to go for something so minimal.

I'd say try a different dealer because I've had my fair share of problems with the ILX that I covered with warranty. I've replaced the front struts, rear shocks, anything that involves the emission system and I still get clunks during low speed turns. Also, my tighten fuel cap light keeps popping on and my check emission light also. I filed for a buyback and finally with the help of Tustin Acura and a Honda district rep, they sent me an offer for a buyback. I lose about 1.7k however due to mileage to the car, so I'm not sure what I want to do here.

I have the driver's seat issue as well. I hit the brakes and I get hit with something in the mid-back. I am going in for my first service in 10 days, have made the dealer aware and told them whether or not they can reproduce the issue, I want a new front seat. I wish I had kept my '02 RSX with 250k+ miles on it at this point. This is not at all the quality I expect from Honda/Acura.

Hey JB3, do you have 2013 ILX or 2014?

I'm really curious if Honda managed to fix the seat issue in 2014 or still like that. It looks like it's common issue with ILX. Whenever I hit break hard, at least once a day, i hear that clunking noise.

I will mention the issue at the dealership while I'm at it, then.
