There is absolutely zero drone in the car, but it rumbles a little louder than stock. I took the factory muffler off and left the resonator.

Next year when I turbo the car in the spring I will replace the downpipe back to the resonator with 2.5" piping and then it should be fine for the boost I want to run.

It's hard to tell from that picture, but you can't see the cross pipe at all. I will try to get better pictures.

*Re-post from my original DIY Dual exhaust thread.
Encase ANY of you are still on the fence about cutting your bumper, i was able to find some images on ebay on the bumper removed. I hope this helps.

Thanks guys! Exhaust was a bit more work than expected, but it completely made the back end of the car look expensive .

It had me thinking so much I took the satin black wheels off the car.... starting to think of luxury wheels.

Any sound clips yet?
In the end what size piping did you use?

And glad to hear you're looking at luxurious wheels instead of taking the becauseracecar route.
Any ideas yet on brands and designs? Specs? Price range?

The exhaust is 2" at the factory resonator and expands to 2.25" for the rear portion of the exhaust. When I turbo the car, the rear section has enough Volume to handle the 8psi that I plan on running for just moderate power.

New wheels...?
I have my eye set on a HRE P107s or something clean... set of 19" in hyper silver.

Thank you .

I will be repainting the entire back bumper here shortly. I can't stand how the shades are different and I still had to fix the spot of hit and run.

That looks fantastic! I'm definitely thinking a similar move is in the offing for mine, if only for a single exhaust tip.

(As a quick aside, Nebraska sure has changed its license plates since I lived there in the early 90s!)

Yeah, they looks great on a gold Buick.. other than that they are seriously ugly. The last car I had Custom Husker Plates (Red and White), I just haven't thought of something I wanted to put on them yet.

Looks Great ! and I agree it does give the car a more premium look. The lack of an exhaust it what bothers me the most about my ILX. I also like the black out on the lower bumper. was thinking of doing it, but not sure how it will look with Pearl Blue car.

Thank

looks really nice great jpb.. and regarding your future turbo plans.. when running forced induction shouldn't your exhaust be 3" not 2.5"!?
