Diego's Build Thread
This is my first acurazine post, I currently have a 2015 ILX 2.4 that's about a year old now. I recently ordered a set of Weds Kranze ERM 3-piece wheels, 18x8 + 45, 18x9 +45. Wheels probably wont be here until early November and probably won't mount for long since winter is right around the corner. I've had the car stock for year now, but now I'm deciding on starting mods. Once winter passes i'm hoping to have coilovers and wheels installed. Still indecisive between D2 racing RS coilovers and Godspeed MonoRS coilover systems, any thoughts on which to choose? Also plan on ordering Injen air intake, and full race DP + Exhaust, by spring.

thank you.
I think I decided on the Godspeed Mono RS Coilovers. hopefully I'll order them sometime in November/December. Does anyone know if someone has the hookups or could get a deal on them?

Try SlammedILX or AarontheAsian on IG. Not sure if he can or would hook it up but Im sure he'll have great pricing!

Well, I went with the Godspeed coilovers and they went on about a week ago with the oem wheels. Today I mounted the other wheels, didn't see any contact when putting them on but once the car got lowered and I started to back out of the garage I heard a slight rubbing noise and they ever so slightly hit the front struts. Debating now on what size spacers to go with, between 5-10mm. Here are some pictures before I put the oem wheels back on.

Looking good man! Id say go 5mm spacer since most agree that 10mm is just too much unless you pick up 10mm spacers with pressed bolts.
If its just the front Id say go with 10mm spacers in just the front to get away from the strut and also even out a little of the stagger you have from the 8 and 9in wheels. It'll still be staggered by about 15mm.
If you want to go all four corners with spacers Id say 5mm since Im not sure how close the rear wheel is to the fender. 10mm or more may start rubbing fender.
I have 8in wide wheels on 25mm spacers and the rear rubs a lot. I think if you went about 10mm youd be about 5mm away still but cant say 100%.

Are you running the 18x9 in the rear? I'm currently running a 18x8 +44 in the front with a 20mm spacer (w/ attached studs). I rub only on hard bumps. Our ILX can take a 18x9.5 +35 in the front and rub very lightly. It will not touch the front struts either.
Have you started on the performance mods? You're close in VA (I'm in MD). My mods are a HPS intake arm, removed resonator, K&N drop in filter, RV6 catted down pipe, and Hondata Reflash. Maybe we can meet up to see how loud the catted down pipe makes the car before you purchase an exhaust. I do plan on getting the DC Sports turn down exhaust and an Injen SP Cold Air intake.
