Cruise control + clutch

Does the clutch cancel cruise control for other people with the 2.4? In all the other manual cars I've driven, the pushing the clutch down when you're cruising cancels the cruise, and in my ILX it doesn't. I'm wondering if there's a broken sensor or something.

Pretty sure something is wrong.. I use my cruise control everyday and pressing the clutch down will 'cancel' the cruise.. I'd get it looked at!

See page 231 of your owner's manual. The cruise does not "cancel" until you've pressed the clutch in for 5 seconds. It's a feature. Picture yourself going up a mountain pass in 6th gear with the cruise set. You start losing speed as the grade gets steeper. You can downshift to 5th gear and the car will resume your speed in 5th without you having to set the cruise again.

It does definitely catch you by surprise the first time you try it out.

Thanks 4cruizn.

It's a strange feature though, since it would take a steep mountain to slow the car down in 6th at full throttle (maybe carrying a lot of weight?) and I'm not sure if I'd want to use cruise control going up such a steep incline anyway. It seems that the rare cases that feature would be useful seem very small compared to the convenience of being able to kick off cruise without hitting the brake or using a steering wheel button. Just my 2 cents.
