so I casually knew this from San Diego. Would see him whenever I would go get boba or get stuff at Autofashion USA - recommend this spot for VIP styling mods. Best prices compared to anyone else. His Corolla (not a Camry), literally got stuck in the middle of the road. He had to call AAA to move his car. And he was with his girlfriend. You know he didn't get laid that night man. He raised it up a little after. Last I saw he was trying to go with bags. Don't know what happened tho. Too low = not smart. Low and stanced = sexy, no argument here.

In my opinion..
Fitment didnt catch on until VIP became a trend and people had money to throw at it.
When fitment became a HUGE factory the whole stance scene cropped up and now the two scenes are kind of hard to distinguish sadly.

Stance is cool. Just take any car and fit the most aggressive wheels possible on it.
But VIP is basically what you get when a show car and track car have children. Its all about show but VIPs are often running crazy power as well.

Looking back again where VIP started, these were tuners at heart. You better believe their cars were as fast as they were sexy.

As for the video AOmech just posted about, running that low on a daily driver is perfectly fine on air ride in my opinion. Ride a little higher and park laying frame.
I'm talking about the scene right now, not the history of the scene. All you need is that aggressive fitment with some sick ass wheels and you're pretty much half way there.

If you really want to take it further, a VIP car must be RWD V8, and everything else will not be VIP, but VIP style. #VIPplatforms

Been wanting JP products from AF lately, but too far for me!!! Once I'm done with the custom shit from my friend I'll head there just for a fusa and neck pads. I heard they were only $25 a piece!!! so cheap

Yeah its true prices are real good. You can special order straight from Japan too. I'm waiting on a steering wheel cover. V8? ehhh borderline......is200 (yes, is200) in Japan is a 4 banger rwd/ semantics tho, your point is valid.

Tax, no tax?

All I really want are the neck pads, not even curtains anymore, but can you get me a quote on the plastic rails?

the rails they dont sell by themselves. I would recommend buying a cheap knockoff on ebay then just using your real curtains (if I understood correctly).

If you want I can just pick them up for you when I'm down there. Then I could just meet up with you and you could just give me the cash. No big deal. That way you don't have to trust me with your money (I wouldn't). I'll have the stuff and you can just give me the cash. Worst case scenario you don't buy it off me, I sell it on craigslist. No skin off my back. Right now the neckpads are in stock in with the black ones that come with 4 different stitching colors - black (I have those), white, gold and red. Also white on white neckpads. I went with black because white stitching gets dirty, but white looks super nice. They didn't have gold or red at the time, but that wouldn't really match for me. Im going with some blue touches inside. The fusa's come in several colors as well. Red fusa with red stitching neckpads? Pretty damn nice in my opinion. I got a teal/kinda light bluish one. White looks amazing, but gets yellowed or dirty with time.

Well I don't have the funds yet (upcoming expenses), but if you can get a pair of the black on black neck pads for me and just hold onto them that would be nice.

I might give you the money before the 31st

When you guys talk about JP pillows are we talking like authentic JP products going for like $90+ per pair or the ebay knock offs for like 35 bucks?

LOL $90 a pair shipped though. I'm assuming you've never heard of AutoFashion. LOWEST prices I've seen for REAL AUTHENTIC JP products, even curtain(Thank God I got mine for free).

It's easy to spot fakes when you talk about JP products, and the only fake ones on Ebay are coming from China, the rest are real.

I didnt know they went that cheap. I always thought anything under like 40 was a knock off. 25 is cheap as fuck. Damn.

Nvrm, those are 50 for two. Makes more sense now.

Ebay knock off 30 per pair
Authentic JP 25 for one.

My question... in the authentic JP pads can you see the stitch that connect each letter or is that only with the fake ones?

Every one I have seen was like that so I assume they have all been knock offs so far.

Junction Produce letters are individually stitched unlike the fake ones. That right there will be an obvious clue to the fake. Stitching also looks better and the shape of the neck pads aren't fucked up like the Chinese knock offs.

If you guys want a VIP custom fitted table, let me know. My homie makes them for $250.
Here is mine in its current state. Chrome trimmings are going to be added.

All real qood, and CUSTOM TO YOUR LIKING. Unlike the universal fitted shit from VIPDout

ALSO, to stay on track of thread, I recommend looking at my sidemarker. See how it flows with the body line and door handles, that's how it should look.

Table looks really good. I know a couple other spots and they are charging $300-350 so although thats still kinda pricey, $250 is pretty good in comparison. Will do when it comes to the sidemarker. I'm gonna think about it for a while before I do it tho. Lots of little projects going on for the car. Other things have more of my attention/ priority for the car. But thanks everyone for all the responses - definitely gonna go with S2k clear sidemarkers and i'll figure out a proper placement.

Yeah, look at HIS placement, because THAT is where the proper placement is on a car it doesn't come with it on.

I'm sure it looks good, but I chuckle at people making impossibly unsubstantiated claims.

Also on placement, I might just trust the installer on it. I think I'll just ask him to add it more or less the same spot as the Civic SI. He literally does this for a living so.... If it flows for the SI, i'm pretty sure it'll still flow with the ILX.

Nothing exactly is VIP about it. This thread just got off track with all the vip talk after aomechs chrome bomb.

Side markers add an extra level of safety. We don't have mirror blinkers to alert people next to us or in our blinds so a side marker will do that.
But hey I don't expect the person that pulled their turn signal bulbs just for looks to get the idea of safety behind a mod.

It's hard to get exactly what you're saying at times.
I don't want mirror blinkers. Don't like them.
But aomech already stated he wanted them for the safety feature they add as well he likes when cars have them stock.

Then I made a lil quip about you pulling your turn signals for the cosmetic look. He added a safety feature you took one away... Both in the name of cosmetics. Funny. No?

I do understand you didnt like my statement.
No reason to be upset over my opinion about you pulling your turn signal bulbs. You have opinions on what I mod and I just shared an opinion with how you mod.
Tis the internet.

I know it's kinda off topic but I like the of having turn signals on the side mirrors, I'm wondering if you could just get civic or tsx side mirrors and just use the ilx bottom part???

It's been done on a 2G TL, but the person lost the ability to fold the mirrors and required too much work.

And yes it will not flow with the rest of the car.
