41 MPG With ILX 2.4
41 MPG With ILX 2.4
Yep. You read right. I was at 41.1 miles per gallon. I filled up in Garberville, CA, zeroed out the odometer and was on my way to Fortuna, CA which is 48 miles north on Highway 101. I drove the one mile uphill on 101 from Garberville and put it in neutral just before the crest of the hill and coasted down the other side. We drove on 101 for awhile and got off on the Redwood Highway to take a scenic detour. It's a lot of downhill and 35 mph speed limits. I coasted every chance I got. The mileage per gallon kept climbing and climbing until I got to 41.1 so i took a picture. I've run a few errands around here and I'm still at 35.3 mpg. Cool, huh?
I've done better. 42-43mpg. a short trip high isn't all that impressive to be honest. I mean other times it said I was getting 18mpg. Not as impressive as a long trip or tank average though,
My personal best on an entire tank was 36+mpg. so 35+ is also pretty damn good. If you're into that, look up mpg saving tips online.

Frankly i think its awesome to have a car look as good as this, that can still easily get 35+ mpg combined... and DOES NOT need an "eco" button to do it.
Just leave it in D, Drive like a normal person, and you'll get great mileage + comfort + speed.
Or just leave it in S all day, and drive around as if your on a 6 speed manual; rev matching every down shitft and still get 30+ mpg...
