25,000 Miles Update w/ Pics

I was coming back from Flagstaff, Arizona to the Phoenix area on Saturday and my friend Beau snagged a few pictures from another car.

Never had any unscheduled maintenance or warranty issues except for the door latch recall at 5,300 miles. Have been changing oil at 5k intervals, though the maintenance minder still says ~ 60% every time. Unnecessary? Probably. But I sleep better at night.
Maintenance summary - though there's another tire rotation I forgot to type in, this is pretty much everything:

Getting 32.8 mpg on average. 91 octane fuel only.
More pics on the blog here - I have been posting at least weekly with updates. Have a lot of fun stuff planned for 2013!
Would love to see pics of everyone else's ILX - I encourage everyone to share pics & stories if you've got 'em.
See you at 50k.

Good to see your ILX in these pics. Good to hear you are still enjoying it and I continue to follow your blog. It is nice to hear some positives instead of the continual haters who drop in to give us their 2 cents worth on why they don't like it.
Yeah it's been a fun little ride! We'll see where this year takes me.
Haha, I know what you mean. There's a lot of 'good' that can be said about the car and I'm certainly enjoying it.
Thanks!
Yeah I'll share updates between now and 50k I'm sure.

You know it. I'm having a blast with this thing. I take great care of my cars, but I also drive the hell out of them. I didn't get my Legend to 518k by looking at it in the garage. The ILX is a worthy daily-driver replacement for sure.

Stay tuned

Tyson,
Since you're changing oil before the MID reaches 15% how are you keeping tag of what other maintenance items you also need to change? (Since Acura no longer has maintenance intervals written out and everything is now determined by the MID)
P.S, your pics are great, nice desktop wallpapers for my computers and iphone.

my favorite color is blue but I really dunno if fanthom blue fits the ILX (I like the sporty brighter blues)
if your like me and de-test chrome, silver hides it really well, especially around the windows and that "shield"
still looks good
if I was seriously interested in one I would go with bellanova white (white comes in second in hiding chrome)
fix the engine (ED?) 6mt with tech and we'll see acura.... we'll see

Tyson,
I asked because I was curious that @ 25k miles there was no mention of you changing the engine air filter.
In case you dont know already, there is a way to know what's your next maintenance code would be before the MID reaches 15%. It shoukd come handy to someone like you who doesnt wait for the MID.

While I'm happy I did get that color and love the way it looks, the car looks gross right now from the road salt! I'm waiting for someone to trace out "wash me" with their finger, but, I don't want to take it through a car wash machine for fear of getting scratches/swirl marks, and its just too cold to do it by hand at the moment (it's been in the teens to low twenties here in NJ for the past week or so). So i'll have to live with it for the moment.
I know what you say brother, you gotta drive em' to enjoy em' And these acuras aren't bashful to be driven.
I'm at 26,500 now. Have a couple of fun trips planned in the coming weekends so I'll be racking up a few more.
Yeah, I see what you're saying. Personally I am liking my silver but there are definitely days when I wish I'd picked a different color. I RARELY see any of the Crimson Garnet models out and about. It's probably the rarest color and I didn't like it at first, but it's really been growing on me. I don't know if anyone on the Owners Sign-In thread here even has one yet.

The dealership wanted to change my air filter at the last service but they didn't even have one in stock, so it was special ordered! I'll put it in the next time I take the car in (probably around 30k).
Yeah, I spent a couple of years at college in northern Utah with similar weather conditions and it was always a challenge to keep the car clean. Just do your best, I guess! You can do a full spring detail when things warm up.
Absolutely. And I did get all that mud washed off
. The car is spotless most of the time. My neighbors think I'm a bit obsessed. They're right.

Good to know! Yeah I'm following your "Type-S" thread. Anxious to see all the stuff you've got in store.

They are hard to find... so I couldn't pass up. Leased this past Sunday.

Haha, I can clean them up for you. But the "edit" button should be at the bottom, right corner of each post you make.
You're posting a pic of a new car? Nice! Best bet is to create a free account at photobucket.com, upload the image from your local drive, and then paste the [img] tag into your reply. Then the picture will show up on here. Let me know if I can help!
