It does look like the front bumper juts forward more on the A-spec version. I like the style of it, it is definitely more aggressive than before.

Do you really give up leather? I see that there are Lux Suede inserts, but to me it seems that the sides/top/headrest is all leather. (Note that the base ILX now does not have leather, just leatherette.)

The new front bumper definitely makes the car look like it's slanted backwards (vs everyone else making the front ends look slanted forward) and it is just hideous. Reminds me of a clothes iron for some reason.. gah why did they have to use the Civic deign elements bleh.

Like a clothes Iron but without the turbo...

100% agree with this post. I am starting to like the changes less and less... minus of course the lighting and interior changes.

I hate the LED strip. It is a cheap cop out to all the people who want their car to "look like an Audi." The TLX/MDX/RDX have such a cool look with all the LEDs illuminated going down the road and the ILX will lose that. It will look like every other Audi/Lexus out there with those tacked on lights.

I completely agree... I thought it was going to be a strip in addition to the regular jewel eye drl's. The only thing I like about the headlights are the LED turn signals... those are really cool and a first for Acura.

I LOVE the, dare I say, purely acura aesthetic they've added with the headlights and touchscreen like the rlx and tlx. As well the new LED tails were a must for anything claiming to be luxury.

As well I am very happy with the new engine and trans that will be seen across the all trims. But I find the creation of the A-Spec to be almost a slap in the face to people wanting a performance version as all they did was add a spoiler, fog lights, and sill garnish.

So some loses some wins. In general I think the community will like the ILX more now. As a Gen1 owner I think the body looks better on my car, but love the extra tech they added.

IMO, this is as it should be. Acura should cast a family resemblance to the Honda 'little brother.' Done right, it should provide a positive halo over the mass brand. Not unlike the resemblances that VW/Audi display in their models. Also, this is not exactly new, Legends and later RLs have always shown a resemblance to the contemporary Accord 9keeping in mind that RLs went two Accord styling cycles).

Even A-Spec is not really an issue to me. The outgoing SE trim on the TSX was just an appearance package and now we'll see larger wheels/tires. I would have liked to see it lowered slightly but we never get everything we want.

I honestly don't get the whining and I have zero customer comments on the transmission operation.

That said, I still don't know if I'll get one now. I've significantly softened my stance on 'no automatic' in recent years as our local traffic has gotten worse and my knees cannot stand 1 hour+ in traffic. I've never owned an auto in 30+ years of car ownership... this is traumatic.
I never owned an automatic till I started driving the DC beltway. I rest the knees for the tennis court.

It may have a bit more 'chin' than the pre-MMC, but I don't mind it in pictures. Final judgement reserved til I see one in person.

Watched it earlier, not a jutting chin in video. Must be a photo angle thing.

Hmm the tail lights look the same so I think I'll just get a 2014/5 2.4 and swap the new tail lights on it and look into the front end. Then again in 2 years who knows what other options are available. I really don't want to buy outside of Acura/Honda though.

I kinda agree with you guys about the LED thing...jewel eyes were cool enough.

I dunno, I'm sorta glad they differentiated the ILX a bit in terms of lighting. It mixes things up a bit across the models, but still maintains that "flat horizontal strip of light" look.

2 sets of DRL's would've been somewhat overkill as well. If anything, they are probably using the ILX to preview the next evolution of Jewel Eyes (along with other new Acura design elements), which gives me high hopes for the other models' MMC's.

Yeah they seem a bit taller on the sides... overall I love the new headlights, and I was never crazy about the Jewel Eyes being on all the time (though now I admit it looks great while driving!) Still very sad about the lack of manual... will we ever hear the end of complaints about lack of manual in really any car though?

I doubt the headlights are any bigger. That would mean honda would have to stamp a completely new fender. Not worth it on a low volume car

^^ If you look at the pics above, it does appear they are bigger and that they extended the light assembly toward teh front bumper rather than the fender itself.

I could be wrong though....

A lot of the current Civic owners dont like the front end on their car either, they've actually been buying new/used bumpers from the the previous MMC and swapping them out. I just dont really like the bottom half on both the front and rear bumpers. The top half on both looks great.

Looking back at some of the spy pics...I now believe some of them (in particular the one below) were actually 9G Accord Sport's, and not some ILX MMC prototype. It's easy to see how they would be easily confused though, given the same side mirrors and chrome window trim, and how the C/D pillar was wrapped up to look like the ILX's As for the slats in the lower side grilles, I suspect those are from removal of the fogs

Not to mention the side grilles also look like the Accord's with the fog lights removed.

Though I could be wrong about it being 100% Accord...the greenhouse still matches the ILX's
