2014 ILX in Canada --Just what we have been waiting for!
Acura Canada via Facebook says "It’s here. Build your own 2014 ILX Dynamic now at http://acura.ca/buildyouracura"
I assumed its the 2.4 6MT and Tech trims put together. You know.. making it 'Dynamic'... plus all the complaints of no navi on the 2.4 6MT and rumored "Nice Changes for 2014".
Well sure enough..

(I posted this over at TOV already, so don't be alarmed when and if you do see this as a double post)

Too bad I missed the navigation! Awesome for future buyers!

Wished the price didn't go up with the nav since the ilx has been panned for being overpriced to begin with! But I will say this will definitely help , so hope it makes it over to the states! The ilx had my curiosity but now it has my attention... =P

This is a pic of the US full line brochure. No Navi+6MT shown.

Sorry, my desktop "blue screened" a couple days ago. I've been trying to do everything via the iPad. Simply put, there is no indication of a six speed manual with navigation for the United States.
This combination never sold in the TSX which is why it was dropped, I don't expect to ever see it for us unless they decide at a later date to switch all production of manuals to navigation only. This would allow them to consolidate production to keep volumes at a reasonable level.

I think it's likely a result of Americans not wanting/not knowing to drive manual. If only we could see the % sold, I bet Canada has a much higher manual %.

Hmmm, I'm not sure why they'd offer manual + tech on the much more expensive tl and not their other models. Enthusiasts are the only ones who opt for a manual trans when it comes to this car (well, it's an assumption, but I think a valid one given that you can have an auto premium for the same price) and I think, in this case at least, they would be ok with the higher price of entry, if they were getting a tech equipped car. Truthfully, for 2k more than the current 2.4 premium, I think the price is fair. Let's also not forget that the tech isn't just navi, but a slew of other features that allow for a more enjoyable experience, commensurate with a premium vehicle.
p.s. I'm tired from only getting 4 hours of sleep so my post may be full of redundancies and poorly constructed sentences

I don't really care that I didn't get tech.. I would of liked the speakers and big screen though!
I think they justify it on the TL because they are already more expensive lol

Hm. I thought they fixed it? No issues here... yet I suppose.

I haven't heard of any significant reports of grinding on the 9th gen si, 1g ilx, and 2g tsx manual trans.
That notwithstanding, I'd like a tech package, especially if it has traffic updates.

I rarely use the nav in my TL (partly because it's 13 years old, still using the DVD it was delivered with), but that's because I mostly drive to/from work. But it does come in handy at times.

My phone calculates based on traffic and it's been pretty spot on everytime I have had to use it.. The satellite radio is a must.. after being spoiled on it I can't let it go.

I'm glad to see that they are offering the tech package with the 2.4 engine in Canada. Given the bluetooth streaming and decent display in my 2.4, I can live without the factory nav. I set up my Garmin to mount with a suction cup (using the adhesive disk) on the right side of the audio display under the hood and it works great with no obstruction of either display. Also, the power cord is not too visible against the black dash and leather to be much of a problem. For short trips, I just run the Garmin on batteries.
I have plugged a 16 gbyte USB stick into the Acura USB port for more music. I usually connect to my iPhone 5 via Bluetooth. Even Pandora works fine in Bluetooth mode. I mostly stream MLB games and podcasts from my phone. The display even shows what game I'm listening to. Also, with an MP3 CD in the player, you get a bunch more music options - equivalent to about 10 music CD's. Add in XM radio, and you've got a decent entertainment system.
I just wish we had a few more color options for the display - red, amber, blue and gray aren't enough. Something like the Mustang dashboard color options would be cool - just a software firmware update required.
CNET always pans the internal hard disks saying that few people use them. My Garmin has lifetime maps, so I won't have to pay for updates. Have you ever priced updates for Honda/Acura internal Nav systems? Its cheaper to just buy another Garmin - which you can use in another car and input locations from your PC. The cost was over $200 for updated CD's in my 2003 TL. Yeah, the Tech package has more speakers and power, but remember, a moving automobile is not exactly the best environment for audiophile listening. I'm happy with what I have.

^ Not bad acura. Good thing they didn't change much, I just bought my car 2 weeks ago and if they changed stuff like wheels, front end, or rear end ima crash my car to the wall lol
