2013 ilx - Need help, very confused...

I am looking to buy a '13 ilx /tech package at around 19k with 16k miles.

I checked car complaints and it doesnt seem to have anything really wrong with the car. I have owned a 94 integra since 2007 and it has stuck by me through thick and thin.

It seems nowadays all these car companies are getting cheap. It is almost impossible to find a car without a ton of issues. I trust acuras durability. I hope im not in the wrong here.

Question is, is the price worth it, and how is everybody's experiences with their ilx so far? Thank you.

There is alot of information you are leaving out, 2.0 vs 2.4, area code / part of the world you are in. I would also be worried about that low of mileage, why is it averaged at 5k a year? Alot of factors go into pricing a car. To be honest, it all depends on your budget, I wouldn't spend 20k on a three year old car when you can buy brand new for a little bit more.

I can't really speak to issues with the car, I recently bought a 2016 with 900 miles on it. But I love it so far, the jewel eyed headlights are amazing.

Here is the actual link to the car in question.

I live in VA. It's a 2.0

What are you confused about ?
I have 2016 ILX A-spec premium, 3 or 4 times to the dealer, Vibrations, the new DCT torque and brakes issues(squeaking). The is very soft unless you upgrade your sway bars to eibach Anti-roll kit.
are you looking for a car to take you from point A to point B? or do you enjoy driving? if you want a car to run without no issues stick to Toyota but if you enjoy driving then its a different story.

Why not a new 2016 Accord Sport? You'll get so much more than what the ILX has to offer.

If you like your Integra I would think you will like the ILX.

I came from a 94 ls and loved that car. I saw the ILX as a step up from the integra performance wise but all around in a nicer and more luxurious package.

The ILX 2.4MT and 2.0 are just as easy to mod as the integra you are fond of but as Ive said all around feels like a much nicer car to drive.

I went from a couple Preludes to a 2013 2.4 ILX. The engine feels great in comparison to the h22, if you were shopping for the 2.4, you'd notice that it is a lot more torquey than your b18b/c, not sure which trim Integra you had. Note sure how the 2.0L feels.

The stock ILX suspension leaves something to be desired, the car lacks stability when cornering, I put the 24mm progress rear sway bar on my car which helped a lot.

Overall, the car is pretty nice and offers a lot in terms of convenience features (especially coming from a late 90's car). The car feels pretty solid overall.

Sounds like you have a preference for the 2.0L + tech, but for the price range that you're looking to spend, you could find a 2.4 with slightly higher miles (~30k miles) if you wanted.

On the same road, I had to upgrade to eibach kit sway bars and added spacers to widen the track width. I do have the A spec 16 with 18inch wheels but its too soft for me. I wish they had a small turbo added for lower RPM. The weight of the 63/37 makes it hard to control.

The 2.0 as well feels a lot more torquey when compared to the LS integra I drove. Not sure when compared to a GSR but Id bet its similar.

The 2.4 would be an awesome buy if you have the money and dont need to luxuries.
The 2.0 is still a great car and if you're not looking to try and double your Integras HP like many many people often are, then Id bet the ILX is near perfect.

Others, like I believe haidarh, aren't happy with the power the cars makes which I feel would be very apparent during a test drive. Me coming from an Integra, and not needing to add 100+hp to that; I love it.

Thanks for everyone's advice. Coming from an integra, i didn't mod anything. It lasted me very long with 2 tune ups.

The suspension issues seem to be on everyones 2013 ilx almost, a friend suggested that the "ufo bushing" could be the cause of the noise, since it is made of rubber and cracks. Anyone tried replacing those bushings with success?

NO BRO

1) who cares about the year? 2013-2015, same car, same thing (unless modding only 2013, 2.4 model has ECU support).... look at the MILES... its a 2013 with 16k miles. What if i sell you a 2015 car with 35K miles on it? Which one is "newer"?

2) Brand new ILX is like $10,000 more, that's not "a little bit more", thats 150% more in price total.

2016 Accord Sport is $27,500 - that's not helping the OP. That's a car that costs roughly 140% more in total. He's buying used for a reason. Might as well suggest he gets an NSX, since you guys are suggesting he can magically afford it.

The car can definitely benefit from suspension modding. If you are not into modding, you probably won't notice or care. This is an enthusiast type forum... mostly/more people taking the time to make an account and mod their car. Doesn't mean the average driver will feel the same.

That being said, IF you feel like you want to have some fun and put a little relish on your hot dog, then you can just go with an Eibach pro kit. I basically pieced together my own "kit" from different brands. I installed a JDM Civic 20mm rear sway bar (stock is 14mm), Swift lowering springs, and will be ordering and installing the Eibach front sway bar. You can go all Eibach, or piece it out as you see fit.

It won't be that noticeable in regular city driving, but it's a HUGE difference on the freeway, turns, and hills.

The tires you chose will probably make a bigger difference tho. I have pilot sports, and they make the car come ALIVE.

Decide what you want more. If you want tech stuff, go for it. The ILX Tech has it. It has less horsepower and no stick shift, but we don't even know if you like manual.

The 2.4 manual is more bare bones. I use my phone for GPS/maps and for music/entertainment and I'm great. But, i didn't want the tech stuff. If you do, then you'll be much happier with the 2.0 tech.

IF you are open to it, I would suggest also looking at a used Accord Sport (if you might like bigger) or a brand new Civic special edition. The new bodystyle of Civic is here, you can probably find a 2014 Special edition for a great blowout price, if you know how to haggle, I bet you could get one for under $20k pretty easily, they were about $22k- $21k

$27,500?

And people are easily getting at least 15% off MSRP too.

You suck at math too.

OP is looking at an ILX that's $19,000.

If Accord Sport "cost roughly 140% more" that would mean the Accord Sport is $19,000 + ($19,000 x 140%) = $45,600

The most expensive Accord Sport MSRP's for $26,065. $26,065 - $19,000 = $7,065

$7,065 ÷ $19,000 = 0.3718%

This means most expensive Accord Sport is 37.18% more than $19,000 ILX, not 140% more.... assuming OP pays MSRP. And no one pays MSRP.
