Where to get wallplates?

I need to run wires to the rear of my living room and I want to put a wallplate back there with two rear speaker connections and a subwoofer connection. The subwoofer will be using the standard RCA/coax connection. Any idea where I can get this?

In our last place I got them from there. Nice and easy b/c I bought an extra one which I ended up needing to return... so didn't need to mail anything back... just drive back and return it

Similar question. I burried some boxes containing speaker wire in a new wall a couple months back (wasn't ready/sure if i was going to put speakers there)...

Well, I lost the drawing with measurements on where I put them... what's an easy way to find the shit? Stud sensor doesn't work.

You know the approximate location, right?

You can get a good educated guess of the stud location, then use hammer to tap a long finished nail therough the drywall. You will know when you hit a stud.

How did you run the wire? Can you find it from the attic and get a general idea which studs they are between?

You said a stud finder didn't work - are they plastic boxes? If they are metal, the studfinder should help you find them - mark out your studs, then move it all over the place in between them till it picks something else up.

Last option is to x-ray the walls.

Tie 120v into it and use an electrical detector (<$10 at HD) to find it...

Be careful with this...

Shouldn't be but I guess you really don't know what the ends are touching and such. I was just trying to think of something cheap you could do. The best/safest way would be to use a tone probe, but you need to make a loop circuit for that to work. I'm not sure if the 120v needs to make one or not for the lil detector thing to detect it.

You're pretty SOL though...
