Shadows are seldom an issue, my living room is fairly large and with the image that size it allows everyone to find their own space. The only time its an issue is if someone is walking with in 4 feet of the wall/screen, which is too damn close anyways.

As for tidying up the cables, it possibly could be done, but there would be a number of drawbacks. Since its safe to say no one has used a Nimbus platform before, there is no way people can understand how sensitive it is. Securing the cables coming off the DVD player would be potentially very dangerous for the DVD player, you'd have to experience the platform to fully understand its quirks. Also the interconnects I am using are a little unruly, they really have a mind of their own, I have tried to keep things organized but to me its more important to make sure intersections of cables are addressed, which results in the organized mess you see. In such tight quarters some compromises have to be made, and its much more important to me that all cables intersect at as close to 90 degrees as possible(this cancels unwanted noise). The final reason that the cabling is not neater is that I plan on moving with in a year and can't see fussing with it, it would probably take me a month of tweaking to make things neater and not have an impact on the sound.
An added bonus to the "chaos" is that air is the best dielectric, by having the cables suspended and not touching ground give a lower noise floor and greater macro/micro dynamics.

^ very nice!
So remember how I thought my receiver went bad and then I went out and got a new receiver. Well i later found out that it was really my subwoofer that went bad. So while researching on avsforms for the past two weeks i ended up with this....![Doh](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/doh.gif)
TV: Samsung LNT4661 46" LCD (had it)
Speakers: Aperion Intimum 633-t with Aperion 634-vac center in gloss black
Receiver: Denon AVR-888 receiver
Subwoofer: Cadence CSX-15
Other: PS3 and HD Comcast box
Should be here this week.![Excited](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/excited.gif)

Nice thing about the aperion speakers is that they offer a 30-day trial. So if im not pleased then i can return them. They pay shipping both ways.

I just got started tonight with a 40 inch Sony Bravia KDL40V3000. Maybe I'll add speakers next year or later this year.
I think I got a decent deal at $1499. I checked online at all the other stores, including Sears, Best Buy, Costco, Circuit City, Amazon, and Sears was the cheapest at $1464, but it was a longer drive than to PC Richards. I got a new DVD player last year, I think it's a Sony.
I was surprised I actually got this tv in the back seat of my TSX.
I was expecting to at least have to take it out of the box, but the guy from the store did his magic and worked it in. Wasn't so easy getting it out once I got home, though.

TV: 15" Sony Trintron with a built in vcr
Speakers: Whatever came on the TV and my iPod HiFi
Receiver: None
Other: Precor elliptical, couch bed for guests, sink/cabinets, boxes of crap I don't know what to do with, china/holiday dishes that are rarely used.
Glad I could help.
Need more money to use it for what it was designed for. All we've done is paint the entire room a very deep purple color.

TV: Mitsubishi 62" DLP
Receiver: Yamaha RX-V1800
Speakers: Paradigm Monitor 5 F/C/Sub. Polk Audio surrounds in ceiling
Other: Toshiba HD-A1 HD DVD Player, PS3 80 Gig for Blu Ray, XBox 360 Elite, PanaMax Surge Suppressor/Power conditioner
All controled by a Harmony 880 remote. Receiver, HD-DVD, cable box and Panamax are hidden in a closet...the game systems are under the TV.
I still have a Rotel 1056 receiver that I am in love with, but changed to the Yamaha so that I could switch everything via HMDI. I am probably going to put the Rotel in the office with my old Paradigm bookshelf surrounds.

My pride and joy is a 210 lb SVS subwoofer with dual 12". Makes a nice end table and didn't cost much more than an end table.
Done some damage to the house with the SVS, heard of people breaking windows, but hasn't happend to me yet

Mine's pretty basic. I have:
LG 42PC3D 42" Plasma
Marantz SR4001 Home Theater Receiver
Sony DVP-NS75H
Sony PS2
Scientific Atlanta Explorer 8300 HD Cable DVR Box
URC Home Theater Master MX-900
Cheapy Polk R300's in the front.
Energy (forget the model number) in the rear
Energy 8" sub (this sub pounds for a 8")
Swivel mount stand. I live in an apartment, so no mounting on the wall. This is a good alternative. You may see the Energy speakers in the front in the stand. They used to be my fronts and I just haven't removed them yet.

A little update. Right now the TV is on its stand on a console. I just moved in with the fiance into the new condo. But I do have the wall mount waiting to be installed. I'm just a little torn at the moment because the TV is a the perfect viewing height right now...but I prefer the clean look of a wall mount.
The remote should come tomorrow, and so far I love the new receiver.
Coming Soon:
Energy Speakers (in Nov/Dec as a pooled wedding gift from friends)

that's a cool wedding gift
I never understood why wedding registries are always a places like Bed Bath & Beyond, Macy's, William Sonomas and not Fry's or BB or CC?

I never understood why wedding registries are always a places like Bed Bath & Beyond, Macy's, William Sonomas and not Fry's or BB or CC? ![Dunno](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/dunno.gif)

We dont really need anything so we have a small registry at C & B. Maybe one at Macys...but we'd really rather have the cash.
My one friend has a hook up with Energy, and Ive wanted a set for about 8 years now. The wedding is costing me enough, my friends decided he would gather a pool of other friends and piece out the speakers.
