Anyone used a Harmony "One"?
http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/re.../3898&cl=us,en
It looks like all the same features as the 880, plus a touch screen with MUCH redesigned buttons. It looks like the buttons commonly used, like channel and volume have been enlarged. Anyone have or hold one of these?

I sold my 880 and bought an 890 pro. Ended up getting a Harmony One last week for my parents, and i gotta say it is one fuckin badass remote.
its a NICE upgrade to the 880, with better button placement and feel in hand. The only drawback i could say is that the front piano black gets dirty as shit QUICK. They need to make some kinda plastic protector for that area, other than that the ONE is hands down the sickest remote i've used in a while.
The only other thing would be no RF, which i use on my 890 to control light scenes, but for my parents it isn't necessary since they are just lookin for ease of use.

I need some help. I am debating on getting a universal remote, but the problem I see is weather it will control of the stuff I have properly:
Onkyo TX-SR875
Xbox 360
Samsung HLT-6189S
Dvd Player
Timewarner/Cox/Brighthouse DVR cable box
Dish Networks Satellite Box
Maybe PS2
Sony 3 disk 2.1 stero system
The problem I see is accessing the list function on the DVR where it lists the recorded shows, Root Menu for the DVD player so it can skip the commericals and go straight to the movie, subtitles and all that funky stuff. Also the TV has a weird souce selection thing where it lists them and you have to scroll through them to get to the input. Will the remote comprehend that?

Question for the Harmony One owners:
When the remote is sitting on the table, can you press the buttons with one finger and not have the remote flip over? Is it "stabilized" well enough, or do the buttons near the sides make it flip over when pressed?

Also, I'm not sure if you can only map 3 activities per screen or more, but I know I'd prefer to have all my activities and buttons on one screen.
You went all "logical" on me

For example if the remote was sitting no a table, and you pressed the volume up button, would the remote flip over on the table or is it stable?

I press by feel on the touch screen all the time...much like the iphone, you get used to knowing where on the screen the certain buttons are located.
And I must not watch as much TV cause 6 on the screen at a time is more then enough...and its not too much work to hit the little touch screen arrows on the sides to scroll the pages...

I took out the battery and removed the two screws on the top and bottom of the remote. Additional to the screws the remote has about 6 places where it snaps into place. I had to use a screw driver to wedge inbetween where the remote is put together to unsnap the top and bottom parts. I then put a dab of hot glue on the volume up button and put the remote back together. Now the button works as it should.

Anyone have the 880 and using it on both a Samsung DLP (HL-Sxx87W) and Harman Kardon AVR-635) please PM me and let me know what delays work for you. Mine seem to be pretty long to get everything to work right.

Well after much debating, I picked up a Logitech Harmony One. After a day and a half with it my impression is that either A) if the remote is indeed capable of doing what I want, getting it there is an exercise in head-smashing frustration or B) you Logitech fanboys are on crack.

I miss my 03 CL-S :(
^My 880 is the only universal remote I've had, and getting it to the point where everything's been good was in fact a head smashingly frustrating process - but I haven't touched the configuration since I got it 3 years ago.

My 880 is still working fine. About the only customization I've had to do is to correctly program the Pause key for my Oppo 980H. I've swapped out my cable box for a DVR, and that works perfectly too without any more work than removing the first device and adding the second, then downloading to the remote. I've got it controlling:
Onkyo TX-SR705 Receiver
Onkyo iPod Dock
Oppo 980H DVD
Samsung BD-1400 BluRay
Samsung LNT5281F LCD TV
Xbox 360
Scientific Atlanta Cable DVR

OK, as usual I think my frustrations may be the result of fundamental lack of knowledge on my part. For most devices, are power on and power off actually two different commands?
There are still some things that I'm finding annoying or just stupid but power commands when creating/customizing activities is what was driving me nucking futs last night. Especially since my cable box (Moto DCH3200) may just be retarded and have only a single "power" command. BTW, I like almost everything about the remote itself. It's the software and configuration that I have issues with. I'm using v7.5.0 on a Mac.

Some devices implement a power toggle command, but I think that is becoming deprecated in favor of separate power on and power off commands.

You should be able to go into the "learn commands" for the device and see which commands are supported in the database. My DVR only supports PowerToggle, not PowerOn/PowerOff for instance.
I should also add that I'm not doing anything particularly outlandish with the remote -- I am just using the standard activities (like "Watch TV", "Watch BluRay", "Play Xbox", etc.) and pretty much keeping the standard button mapping.

I switched from cable to DirecTV so I'm just using their remote. It's RF and it controls volume on my AVR. However, I still use my AVR remote for input changes but I don't play PS3/Wii everyday.

A little OT, but how do you like the DTV vs. Cable? I am thinking of switching for better HD.

I freaking love it. I had Comcast before. We only had 30 HD channels. I have double free HD channels and I don't have to worry about getting a new one when they're announced since D* gets them quick. We just got Fox News HD last week and my Comcast didn't even get CNNHD yet. The only issue I have is rain. A couple of times do I lose the HD stream and I have a pretty strong signal but I rarely lose SD. However, I'm in Miami and it rains a lot here. Cable quality is slightly better even with mpeg4. It just seemed brighter and less fuzzy. The DVR for Sat POWNS cable's. I have a ton of HD recorded with only 40% used. The Scientific box we have had a way smaller hard drive. Plus the Sat's DVR functions are the shit. And of course as mentioned the RF remote is 10x better.
