I have a 5 year Samsung rear-projection LCD TV and a big blog has appeared in the screen. Are there any tv guru help me out. When we are watching it looks like a rainbow burst. Sorry not very desciptive but here are some pictures.

 

Is it one of those DLP type of TV's with a lamp? It looks like something (dust/debris/etc.) got lodged in projection path, in the lens or lamp perhaps? Open up the lamp compartment and have a look see. If it's not in the lamp compartment then you might have to take the back off and check in the optical path - make sure you pull the plug and let the caps drain down (a couple of hrs is enough) before you start poking around in there with your hands. Don't do any of this if you don't feel confident.
